We cannot emphasize enough how wonderful this tour was. Dan was so lovely and an excellent guide! He picked us up in his car and drove us all the way to Stonehenge from Bath and we had a great time. He knew so much about the site and surrounding areas, he came equipped with a binder full of additional pictures and even an iPad! As we went through the museum and then the actual site, he kept things interesting the entire time, and explained the history in a way that was fascinating and understandable. Overall we had an exceptional time and will be highly requesting this tour to anyone we know traveling to the area, it is well worth it! We can’t imagine there is anyone else better to show us around. Thank you Dan!

We were looking for a tour guide to bring us from Bath to Stonehenge for the evening Inner Circle Tour, walking within the rocks. Dan tracked when access into the rocks was being scheduled, letting us know as soon as tickets were available so that we could book the tour. He stayed in touch and provided us all the needed information to make this a memorable part of our trip. His knowledge of the site's history, the archaeology of the site and its ancient relationship to the surrounding countryside was outstanding, broadening our understanding of Stonehenge as a key part of a much larger ancient context while providing interesting and fun details of recent activities at the site. His ability to communicate this information so that it was interesting and clear was greatly appreciated by both my wife and me. Plus, Dan is personable and funny. We highly recommend Bath Insider Tours.

What a wonderful experience! This is the second time we hired Daniel for a tour of Stonehenge so we could share it with our 17 year old grandson. Daniel is an excellent guide, knowledgeable, pleasant,and thoughtful, with lots of interesting facts and stories. He did a great job of reaching out to include our grandson and kept all three of us engaged and interested the whole time. The ride was very comfortable and he is an excellent driver. I absolutely recommend you hire Daniel as your guide, you will be glad you did!

My partner and I did a half day morning tour to Stonehenge with Daniel. Communication prior to the tour was really easy, and in an initial email was really kind to offer some food recommendations for restaurants in Bath - two of which we ended up dining at. He picked us up at our hotel in Bath (he was even a few minutes early which was great!) and off to Stonehenge we went. Despite the rain, we had an incredible visit to this site. Daniel's knowledge is amazing and really made this visit a highlight of our trip. We got a lot more out of our visit to Stonehenge doing this tour with Daniel than if we had rented a car and gone out on our own. On the way back since we had some time, he took us to an incredible spot that had a spectacular view of the city of Bath. I highly recommend taking a tour with Daniel when you are in Bath. You will not be disappointed!

Daniel is by far the best tour guide we had on our trip. He is personable, knowledgeable and a delight. We highly recommend a private tour with Daniel. He will even delight you with Bath song trivia!!!!

Um lugar sobre colinas de um verde único. A viagem foi tranquila e nada monótona pois a paisagem é linda e os vilarejos que passamos encantador. O local é realmente mágico, não sei bem se pela história ou toda beleza que o cerca mesmo com o vento muito gelado!

We had a wonderful tour experience with Daniel. He was very prompt when he picked us up in front of our hotel. The car ride out to Stonehenge was just as fascinating as the attraction itself. He was extremely knowledgable about the Bath and its surrounding areas. And he is very worldly and extremely well traveled. This made for an exceptional tour. We loved all his anecdotes. It made for a wonderful tour! He gave us lots of recommendations of things to see and places to go, as well as dining and shopping options. We had a blast with him! And to top it off, it was Super Bowl night and we were having a hard time finding a place to watch it (11:30pm on a Sunday night). After our tour, he emailed us with some recommendations of establishments that might be showing it. Above and beyond anything a tour guide has ever done. Thank you Daniel! We hope to do another tour with you in the near future!

I went on a tour of Stonehenge with my husband and three girls (aged 12, 9 and 5). Dan was very knowledgeable and excellent with the girls. He answered all of our questions and made sure to involve the girls in all aspects of the tour. He took time to ask them questions and to show them pictures. He also provided information about the area and the stones that we would not have gotten if we chose to tour the stones on our own. I would highly recommend this tour. Dan was amazing! He maintained his positive energy despite the cold and rain, from the time we met him until he dropped us off at our Airbnb!

Our afternoon with Daniel was amazing! He is so friendly and personable and we enjoyed his company very much. His knowledge and passion for Stonehenge made our experience so much more interesting. Seeing the sun set at Stonehenge on a clear day just days before Winter Solstice was magical. Daniel made the afternoon easy, fun and extremely memorable. I highly recommend!!!

What an amazing way to see an incredible place. Our guide, Daniel was prompt, fun, extremely knowledgeable about Stonehenge and the local area and a very good driver. He really made the trip extra special. I would highly recommend this option, if want to see Stonehenge, but don't want to join a bus tour or are trying to see this site in November when there are no tours.

Do you offer children’s tickets or are they the same price as adults?

Hi. The tour price is the same for both adults and children. The only exception are infants (4 years or younger). I refund their ticket price on the day as they get free entrance into Stonehenge.

How close are you allowed to go to the stones?

Hi. You are able to walk around the perimeter of the stone circle and into the sacred earthwork enclosure where you get close to the stones (a few metres). Some of my past guests have posted photos in their reviews above where you can get a feel for the proximity.

We are trying to plan an overnight in Bath on a Sunday or Monday and then do a morning tour before heading back to London. Is Monday a good day for Stonehenge or is it less crowded on a Tuesday or Wednesday?

Hi Mary. Weekdays tend to be quieter than weekends. It does not make too much difference which weekday. Stonehenge tends to be quieter first thing in the morning and at the end of the day.
