Brendan, our driver, was friendly and entertaining as he shared the stories and memories behind the murals. There are heroes and villains, martyrs and victims on both sides. This tour is very moving and informative, and I would recommend it if you are visiting Belfast.

Our driver, Geordie, was very knowledgeable and informative, which gave us a clearer understanding of the Troubles.

We were lucky enough to have Danny as our driver. Wow, so much information that the four of us didn't know. Danny was extremely knowledgeable and informative. We all came away changed. This tour should be a requirement for all. Thank you, Danny. You've already been recommended.

We had a great BlackTaxi tour with Tom. He knows the area like the back of his hand. He took the time to stop and explain the significance of each stop. His personal stories created a much deeper understanding of the history and current situation. The peace wall was inspiring and we signed our names. There was time for pictures and to reflect on what were learned. I highly recommend this tour.

We brought friends who we’re visiting and are delighted that we had an excuse to do the tour. Our guide (can’t remember his name) was excellent. Very informative and interesting.

This was an incredible and unforgettable experience. Our guide Brian was so informed, knowledgable, friendly and personable. We found this very moving and Brian provided so much insight and space to reflect and explore the murals and history. Cannot recommend this more!

Amazing trip, knowledge of the taxi driver Des was fantastic, gave a very good history of both sides. Would highly recommend.

One of the most enlightening experiences you could ever have. Described to us as where abnormal is normal, this almost two hour tour around the Falls Road and Shanklin Road area was such an eye opener. The fact that in 2023 there are still four gates separating the two communities that are locked each night is frankly unbelievable. Our driver was extremely knowledgable, very amusing and full of unbiased insights into the history and background of "the troubles". He answered all our questions and explained clearly why things happened in the way they did. Who would have thought that Brexit has re-ignited unrest 25 years on. We had no idea that the Falls Road and Shanklin Road were side by side and that a wall exists between them. What is sad is that it is unlikely to come down for several generations to come.

I took this tour Oct. 2022. (I had spent fall 1982 as a US law student in Belfast and Galway, I participated in investigating , with Dean Kevin Boyle, the use by the British Army of “plastic bullets,” which had killed children in civil disturbances). The two guides on the taxi tour were very knowledgeable, They were also impartial and fair (my fellow tour participants were unable to “guess” whether the two drivers were Catholic or Protestant).
The guides knew history, dates, and names of public figures, actions and events.
The “troubles” were a sad time in Belfast, Londonderry and Northern Ireland. (We in Maine are proud that our former US Senator George Mitchell led efforts to achieve the Good Friday peace accord in the 1990s).
It was wonderful to see the stability that has come to Belfast and No. Ireland.
We need to remember history to avoid repeating it. These Black Taxi tour guides were better informed, and more impressive than most college and law school professors I have had.
I would heartily recommend to any tourist of any political persuasion or nationality.
The guides knew history, dates, and names of public figures, actions and events.
