Big Mark gave us a great insight into the past and continuing troubles. He’s a super friendly and knowledgeable guy that gave an impartial view which must be incredibly difficult having lived through these times. Having watched the troubles on the TV growing up in London this really was very interesting and educational. There was no rush and Mark dropped us back in south Belfast having run well over the allotted time. We couldn’t recommend this tour enough.

A must do when visiting Belfast no question about it. You’ll get the history of the place first hand from someone who grew up here and lived through it all. You’ll get to visit the political murals on both sides of the community while driving through areas you’ve seen on television. We were picked up from our hotel in the city centre by our driver Jim who greeted us with a friendly smile and a warm welcome to Belfast. His knowledge and tour guide skills were brilliant and so well presented in an unbiased fashion - Thank you to NI Black Taxi Tours for making this Tour so worthwhile and memorable. Kind Regards. Our tour guide Mark was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Really worth while. Personal tour and lots of time for questions. Would definitely recommend

My husband and I have had a brilliant experience with Big Mark for political tour. The booking process was quick and easy, we used WhatsApp and we received a confirmation message for our booking. We were met as agreed by Mark who was a wonderfully friendly host and tour guide. We were shown, heard and saw 3 accounts which gave an insight into ‘the troubles’. I think we learned more than 2 sides to a story today as we explored the propaganda and media that influences people near and far. The missing narrative and the third story is all people, all their lives and all their experiences. The impact on community, identity, generations, lives and hearts are forever etched here in Belfast. The tour evoked deep and meaningful conversations around history, oppression, violence, peace and future visions that have stayed with us all day. It demonstrated lack of personal knowledge and a desire to learn more. Thank you

Our guide Robert was brilliant, his knowledge of the history of “The Troubles” beat all expectations. Sharing stories from all perspectives.

We booked a political tour for the 2nd January with a pickup from our hotel at 11am. Communication on booking the trip was good. However, on the day of the tour the taxi didn't turn up. We received no notification or call that there was any issue or change. Poor customer service on that front. Luckily we hadn't pre-paid. Disappointing nonetheless.

The taxi driver from the airport to the hotel advised me to cancel the tour saying it was a rip off.
I’m so glad I didn't! Mark the black taxi guide was the best in explaining the troubles and I’m Irish! He was able to make the geopolitics of the region coherent and was as objective as could be. In addition, his own lived experience added another dimension.
I cannot recommend highly enough. Do book with Mark.
