We have been doing a self guided tour of the game of thrones filming locations...we turned up to the bik tour of winterfell too late and was greeted by Rob who had some spare time on his hands to give us our own private mini tour. What a legend pointed us in the right direction of other places to visit and even where to go and eat....

Arrived for a briefing with Spike who show us the current Winterfell and how it was turned into the TV series.
Interesting to hear the stories and how they transformed the set.
Grabbed our swords, cape and jumped on our bikes for a short bike ride.
Nice Spring day 15 degrees and headed off around the lake, with our map, exploring the sites where they did the filming.
After the sell guided bike ride, there is more walks and picnic tables to kick back, relax and enjoy the scenery.

I came here recently for my Stag Do and this was by far the highlight of my weekend, I and the group I was with had an amazing time! The staff were so fun, helpful and knew everything about the location and series, they made sure we had a great time.
We got dressed up in Game of Thrones inspired outfits and did axe throwing and archery in the morning, doing a bit of practice first and then a friendly competition between us. Never felt rushed, we all got time to have a go, and the staff were really engaging and encouraging.
After fish and chips for lunch, we took a tour around the filming locations which was really interesting and is a must for any fans of the series. We finished with a game of combat archery which was awesome, sort of like paintball/dodgeball but with rubber headed arrows which don't hurt.
Huge thanks to Rob and his colleagues for a great day and a really memorable stag do!

We flew all the way from Australia pretty much to come on this tour. To say it was well worth it was an understatement.
From co-ordinating with James to arriving to the beautiful grounds, guided by Rob - my cousin and I had the best time.
As Rob was an extra on seasons 5-8 we got behind the scenes intel and just awesome conversation in general because he’s an absolutely a lovely person.
The estate was beautiful and after our walk around (in actual set costumes!!) we got to try our hand at archery. We didn’t start great but with Robs help, we’re actually not too bad now.
If you can get to Castle Ward and take this private tour, we seriously recommend it!!
Side note: best to drive in, as recommended by the tours website, as the public transport options are few and far between.

Literally at a loss for words with our experience on our last day in Ireland. My husband and I booked a personal tour of the Winterfell Film Locations and LOVED it all. Ask for Rob - he gave us background info and treated us like royalty as he walked us around the grounds and gave us an archery lessen. We had a wonderful time and HIGHLY recommend the one on one feel of the private tour.

I can’t praise Winterfell Tours enough! I surprised my sister with an archery lesson on our trip to NI and it was the highlight of an all-round amazing holiday! James and John were both so kind and fantastic hosts. It was an incredible experience to shoot arrows at the very same location as Bran did in the show. Gorgeous surroundings and all very immersive. The lesson itself was very personalised to us - the team are clearly passionate at what they do and very focused on ensuring everyone has the best time possible. Afterwards they even let us borrow some costumes to tour round the filming locations nearby (so we got some great photos), and gifted us some bottles of craft beer at the end! We had the most genuinely lovely time and would thoroughly recommend to everyone visiting the area.

My husband and I went to the Winterfell bike tour experience this past week. Our tour guide Will gave us an extensive tour of the grounds explaining how the set was built, where scenes were filmed, what is was like working with the actors from the show and his time working on set as an archery trainer/adviser for the show. Will was a wealth of information and made sure we had a great experience. The self guided bike tour was great, overall an awesome time!

2 couples. Amazing time. Will have an awesome tour and really made the experience. Threw axes and shot arrows. Only thing missing was a pint of ale at the end.

My husband and I had the most amazing time!!! Will was the sweetest man and host! He was so knowledgeable about all the sets. He even let us throw some axes! 10/10 experience. If you’re thinking about this, just book it!!

Will was absolutely amazing! He was knowledgeable and took his time to help teach us proper form for the axe throwing and archery. He really made the whole experience fun and entertaining!
