This 3 day highlands and island tour was great . Rob was flexible , fun, and knowledgeable. He weaved in history to the drives and hikes . There was never a dull moment .
Rob provided door to door service, even offering to help get me from the airport . He was also a font of knowledge about Edinburgh. He gave good advice on places to eat, as well as other parts of Scotland to visit . I cannot recommend this tour company enough . I will never forget this trip!!

I absolutely recommend this 3-day trip. Organisation, tour guide and accommodation chosen were excellent. Be prepared to spend quite some time on the bus (though a very comfortable one). The only aspect I would suggest improving is the day plan in Skye. I would have preferred to see ''less but better'', meaning a shorter tour but allowing more time outside (especially in Portree). Thank you for the amazing experience!

While i had a lovely tour guide, all we did was drive and stop for bathroom breaks. just driving. that’s it. it had mentioned things like whiskey tasting and water falls and castles, it all seemed to be a rip off. we drove the whole day and “whiskey tasting” was just stopping at a random pub, which was not included. drove by small water trouts not waterfalls. and the big castle you could walk in we could only drive by and the one we were allowed to see was just a couple ruins left and 30 pounds to see

We're very surprised to read your comments, as, as you can see we regularly get fantastic feedback about our tours. I have shared your comments with our Transport Team to follow up.
Entrance fees to any of the activities are not included in case someone does not wish to partake in a specific activity, such as a whisky tasting. Whisky tastings can be done in many locations, were you looking for a whisky distillery tour?
We do hope you enjoyed the sights you were able to see during the tour and enjoyed your time in Scotland.

We really enjoyed this tour, which involved a wide variety of experiences across the Highlands. Only complaint would be that the bus seating was tight, but the roads were narrow, so we understand why. A wonderful three days. We have no regrets and would recommend for sure. The Highlands and Skye were beautiful!

It was a great stress free trip. We saw castles, boated across the loch ness and fed harry coos. The guides were very kind and entertaining. Andy was so knowledgable and funny. Paul had great stories and photographic tips.

Two thumbs up. Rory was a great driver, great history storyteller, and comedian. He kept us entertained at all times. Glad I didn’t have to do all that driving and navigating. Good camaraderie with fellow passengers. Accommodation was very good.

Me and my girlfriend (we are from Italy) just got the chance to do the 3 day tour through the highlands up to Inverness and then discorvering the Isle of Skye. Best experience of our lives by far, our driver guide Steven B ( B as better as he modestly told us) was absolutely amazing, he showed true caring for each one of us on the tour and made instantly clear that the goal was to become friends with him so that we could enjoy the tour even more. Always ready to teach us something about his beautiful country, and most importantly funniest lad in the world and best deejay ever. If you want to have a truly and proper Scottish experience I highly recommend this trip, and remember if you may, ask for driver guide Steven B! I also recommend May as the month to try this adventure as touristic season is just at the beginning and it will be an even more wild experience. Using this review I’d like to take the opportunity the thank Highland Experince Tours and Steven B once more. Thank you!

Alex was our guide for the 3 day tour. He is on time, friendly, and professional. The bus does not have Wi-Fi but we have Verizon in US and we got reception in 95% of the areas.
Bring a portable battery pack because many of the USB chargers on the bus are broken. There are 4 up front near the driver if you are willing to give up your phone for a few hours.
You need to have a carry on size bag and one backpack and that’s it. If you have anything larger, you will need to store it at the bus station or train station or your hotel beforehand.
There is an optional boat and castle tour on Loch Ness that is $54 pounds for two people and it has to be paid in cash. You can’t prepay it with a card ahead of time. There is a difference between Scottish money (sterling) and the UK pound. However, they will accept the UK pound in Scotland.
This tour stays overnight both nights in Inverness at Ardross Glencain bed and breakfast. It should stay one night in Skye because it would eliminate several hours of driving from Inverness to Skye and back on day 2. It would also allow more time for the passengers to be off the bus. The bed and breakfast that you stay at in Inverness is about 1/4 mile from pubs and restaurants and you WILL need reservations. Plan ahead and make the reservations on the bus. Or use Uber eats to get food delivered.
There is some shopping on this tour but it’s limited to gift shops. This is a tour for those who want to see the scenery and hear about Scottish history.
You will see several lochs (lakes), mountains, old Scottish log and rock homes, the island of Skye with rock formations and where they still speak Gaelic. Ok
The boat ride and tour of the castle on Loch Ness on day 3 was fantastic. On the way home, we got to stop at a whiskey distillery about 3 hours north of Edinburgh. That was a fantastic place and we really enjoyed it.
Bring an umbrella.
We also saw some Harry Potter and outlander film locations.
All in all, this was a great place to get out of the city and see the real Scotland.

I really couldn’t say enough good things about this tour. Our guide Alex was professional, knowledgeable, kind, and very funny. He took us to see as much as we could within reason and added extra if he could. Alex went above and beyond to make this a great experience and it truly was. It was so fascinating learning about the country and culture from a true native. The bed and breakfast was nice with a great selection of breakfast. Would highly recommend!

Our group went on the boat cruise. The guide asked the group who was interested in the cruise and everyone was interested. Our guide dropped us off at Urquhart castle where we explored the castle and then boarded the boat. The guide picked us up where the boat docked, it was fun. The cruise was $25 that we paid the guide and it took us through the line.

Hi there, we returned to Edinburgh at around 5-6pm. Dropped off in the Royal Mile not too far away from the pickup point at the start of the trip. It might be a bit tight since your return time would also depend on traffic and weather conditions. For me, I wouldn’t take the risk and opt to fly the next day.

We went on this tour and most of what we see, we see from the outside. There was one castle we had the option to go inside and we did. I suggest you contact the tour operator and check which ones will be open during the time you plan to be there. I can say that I highly recommend the 3 Day Isle of Skye tour, in general. The scenery is beautiful!

Hello,
I recommend you contact Highlands Tour directly and ask these questions. But my guess is that you could leave the tour when you want, although you would have still needed to pay full price as they couldn't have sold your half way seat to anyone else. But that's just my guess. Contact the company directly.
