Laura was an excellent guide. We packed a full day with six locations and she kept us on track and still gave us time to enjoy each location. Our first time doing a private tour and extremely glad we did! Would definitely use this company again.

We were lucky enough to have Laura as our guide for our cruise stop in Edinburgh. Laura was on time (early, actually) and very welcoming. She has a wealth of information that she gladly shares and is focused on giving her guests the best tour possible. Our Edinburgh Full Day tour with access to Edinburgh Castle was wonderful. Laura planned the day perfectly to try and avoid the traffic and heavy volume of tourists. We had plenty of time to explore the Castle as well as time to walk (and shop) along the Royal Mile. Laura was great at handling all the traffic around Edinburgh as she took us to various sites and wonderful lookouts. It was a great tour with a great guide. We would not hesitate to recommend Experienced Tours.

My two sons (ages 16 and 12) and I went on a magical day trip from Edinburgh to Loch Ness. From the planning stages to the day-of, Sandy was helpful, welcoming, and proactive. Our guide, Laura, picked us up from our hotel and was so lovely, generous, knowledgeable, and engaging. She paid attention to what interests we each had and thoughtfully incorporated those interests into our day and answered our questions and catered to our curiosity! We fed Highland Cows and learned so much about Scottish culture and history as we drove by castles, monuments, sculptures, and beautiful landscapes. We had ample time for lunch at a quaint Inn, photo stops, and to explore around Loch Ness. The weather showed us every side of the Highlands - sunshine, rain, rainbows, but somehow the sun was always shining when it mattered most! Laura wrapped up the day showing us a magical hike to a beautiful waterfall and stone bridge in the forest. This tour was the highlight of our 10-day trip to the UK! Everyone that asks my kids what their favorite thing was, they unanimously and enthusiastically tell them about this tour! Thank you for making our day so memorable and enjoyable!

Calais was fantastic! He took us to so many locations, made sure we had time for the specific things we wanted to do (shopping and see/pet highland cows). He went over and above by asking his boss to bring us umbrellas since it was raining pretty hard and called ahead to several stores to help us locate a specific bottle of scotch. He was friendly, personable, informative and gave us a great tour! We loved every minute of it!

We loved our tour and our very special guide, Ben. He was knowlegable and patient with all our quesions.Ben was waiting for us at the cruise terminal and got us back on time without any problems. Edinburgh was a delightful city that we hope to visit again soon.!

Above and beyond our expectations! Knowledgeable, interesting, funny, and kind are just a few things our group was saying about our guide Sandy (Alexander). He accommodated our every request and adapted our private tour on the go to maximize our time and sights. We only had a few hours in port but we believe we saw everything we wanted and more. Because of Sandy we all want to come back to Edinburgh for a longer visit! Highly recommend this company to everyone!

Alan, our guide, was fabulous! He picked us up promptly at the train station and gave us an incredible tour. He was a wealth of knowledge and talked about the rich history and architectural splendor of Edinburgh. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Where is the button for 10 stars? That’s what I want to give for our recent tour with Calais from Experienced Tours in Scotland. We are on a cruise ship, going all around Scotland. I looked at many different tour companies and picked Experienced Tours to manage our private tours on five different days, in several different locations One of the reasons I selected them was the responsiveness of the company in understanding and working with me to customize the tours so we could see all the things we wanted to see. Sandy got back to me immediately each time I asked a question, always with the best details and the flexibility we needed. We were fortunate to have Calais as our tour guide for our two days in Edinburgh. All communication leading up to the day was perfect. We were able to chat on WhatsApp . He was there right when we got off the ship, waiting with his pristine tour vehicle, wearing a very elegant and understated black kilt. So we were off on our journey. Calais had all the details I had provided to Sandy, we wanted to have lots of photo opportunities and chances to view the castle and beautiful sites in Edinburgh. Calais gave us great details all along the way and drove us to the perfect locations. They had preplanned and reserved a cute spot just outside the city for lunch. We never felt rushed, Calais was extremely generous with his time, it feels like we made a new friend. He is so knowledgeable about the city, and knows just where to find the parking spot so that you can get close to everything. The second day was extra special, we are Outlander fans and wanted to see Outlander sites. Nobody could do this tour better, Calais was part of the crew that filmed on location here in Scotland. So we got the inside scoop, the behind-the-scenes stories. We also asked for a revision to the standard tour you see on their website, no problem, we saw the important Outlander sites, but also had time to see the kelpies and Falkirk Wheel. So we had two perfect days with Calais, made some great memories, learned a lot, took amazing photos, and I know we will be back again to spend even more time in this part of Scotland. When we are back, we will definitely ask for Calais, but no matter what, we will definitely be coming to Experienced Tours for our tour guides.

Sandy is an excellent guide and gave our group an exceptional introduction to Edinburgh. He is knowledgeable and informative but mostly so much fun! Highly recommend him and Experienced Tours as a whole.

Hiya Alexander & Experienced Tours,
Just booked your tour today for 3 Adults but didn't see child option. Noticed in reviews you took a family with a 10 year old.
Is there a different fee for kids 12 & under?
Coming into Newhaven on 7/1/22, docking by 8 AM with debarkation @ 9 AM+ on Norwegian STAR, sailing out same day @ 6 PM from same dock. Out family is of Scottish descent & with just one bloody day in Edinburgh, we really wanted to see it from a Scot's perspective, YOURS! The fluidity you offer is perfect for our varied interests. Primarily interested in historical sites, castles, gardens & art. No Distilleries, sorry.

Hello....the premium minivan tours are very attractive, but there are only two of us. Do we make a reservation assuming that July tourist traffic would likely fill the minivan and thus reduce the per head price. How does that work? If the van doesn't fill up within a day or two of the reservation do we simply cancel?

Is there pickup at Ship Pier ( Crown Princess) in Queensferry?
Does driver have prepaid tickets for the Castle and Yacht so we do not wait in the long lines to purchace our tickets?
