This was definitely not worth the cost. It wasn't always clear which building the recording was talking about and there was very little information given. I would have liked more historical background. There was also too much time just listening to random, annoying music.

very enjoyable, got to see so many great attractions, would highly recommend the 2 day option, we only did the one day and there was so many stops we wanted to see that we ended up going back the following day.. for sure see the waterfront museum. very interesting.

We had been on the City Sightseeing Glasgow tour before, but that was about 15 years ago, so we thought we'd refresh our memories!
The red route (the one that runs in the winter) covers a lot of points of interest in all parts of the city and we learned (or re-learned!) a lot of interesting facts.
The commentary is recorded and you can pick up a pair of earphones on joining the tour - it is available in a wide range of languages. I have to say, however, that the first time we went on this trip years ago we had a live guide who was much better than the recorded version on buses nowadays.
During the winter the buses are 30 minutes apart, so we just jumped off at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum the first day and, as we had bought the two-day ticket, the Riverside Transport Museum the second day. We had visited many of the other stops on previous visits to the city. Although we had been to these two museums before, we noticed new exhibits in both, this time.

In January 2025 all new electric buses. All buses were clean, the drivers very friendly. The red tour covers almost all the sights of the city. The timetable of departures at the stations, except the first, are only available on the Internet as a timetable. I'm afraid it's not on the folder.

This was my second time to do the tour. Parked at Riverside museum for the day, less expensive than downtown Glasgow parking . Did museum tour there and then bus tour and last tour back to Riverside. It was a brilliant day and I did it because my eldest daughter and eldest grandson were with us and they had never done the tour. In fairness I did it in the very early noughties and had forgotten most so it was not boring

The bus on the second day we couldn't take it because it didn't happen at any time. We walked around taking taxi included to get to the places we wanted. not being able to get to everything where we wanted.,The first day was fantastic, we did the full tour for the next day get off and visit the sites of our interest. I already figured it couldn't be possible.

No issue with the quality of the bus tour itself BUT if you are planning to use it to hop on and off , bear in mind that it seems to come round once in a blue moon and that the timetable offered seemed fiction. In the light of that it turned out rather pricey as we were unable to complete our tour.

The hop-on, hop-off bus tour operates in the North of River Clyde side of the city. I searched on the City Sightseeing website (unfortunately I am not allowed to post its URL). The information for cruise passengers pop-up reads:
"Guests will be required to make their own way into Glasgow to board the City Sightseeing Bus. A train service is linked between Greenock and Glasgow which will take approx. 45 – 55 minutes to reach the central station (Charges will apply). Guests will need to take into account the time of the journey back to Greenock to coincide with the disembarkation of the cruise ship."
