Nick was an absolutely amazing tour guide. He gave a great broad overview of the Revolution but also went into specific detail when asked. Would recommend this to everyone regardless of their knowledge on the Revolution.

Enjoyable, not outstanding.

I learned some new things, the guide was pleasant. There were only a handful of stops on the tour and no difficult walking. Started near Les Invalides and ended in the Latin Quarter. Guide warned that the tour woukd not be chronological, which I understand, given the geography of Paris and the breadth of the subject. But I wish almost all history tours would start with a solid grounding of background, influences on the events and a timeline. My friend enjoyed the tour more than I did, and i think the other seven people enjoyed it a lot as well. I would rate it as good, not great. The greek tour guides English was quite good, amd she was entusiastic.

Our guide, Jerome made this day perfect.

It was only a 2-3 hour tour but Jerome took us a our own pace and made every site more interesting that ever before. He explained the history of the Eiffel Tower and other buildings, like pointing out and explaining the bullet holes in the building where the French held out during invasion by the Germans. Little things he explained made the tour SO worth it.

Oscar was great!

We were a small group, six in total, which made it very nice...we all got aquatinted, and Oscar shared some of his personal history. He was informed, humorous, and very clear in his presentation...the tour was interesting, and we will never forget the three Louie’s...the son, the fun and the done! We enjoyed our time with Oscar!

Excellent tour today with Dave! Dave has tons of interesting information and details about the French Revolution. We enjoyed walking through the city and highly recommend this tour.

This wasn't great

The guide seemed very nice, but unfortunately this wasn't a good tour. The places we walked to didn't really match up with what was being talked about - it was just someone taking us around well-known areas like Place de la Concorde and reciting what seemed like a half-remembered French revolution wikipedia page, in an extremely unengaging and monotonous way.

Follow-up questions didn't get interesting answers, and the guide unpredictably swang between assuming the people on the tour knew everything already, to explaining extremely basic and boring details, to just completely missing out parts of the narrative. Anyone who went into the tour not sure what happened would probably be none the wiser at the end.

Considering it wasn't cheap it should have been a lot better. Judging by some of the other reviews here some of the guides are better than the one we got, so take your chances, I suppose.

TOTAL SNOOZEFEST!
We have had many guided tours and this one was the worst tour ever. First of all the guide did not have proper English to do this job. She have a very monotonous voice that was very hard to follow. It was like a child telling a story all broken up. Secondly this was not a tour! This was a like a boring class that you had to do tons of walking not to anywhere in particular. Just walking and stopping for more lecture. No sites except the Borboun Palace was visited. Please do yourself a favor and skip this one! I regret spending the time I am not even worried about the money. Waste of time!!!

Very informative tour with great tour guide
Had a wonderful time walking the streets of Paris, and learning about the history of the French Revolution. Our tour guide, Oscar, was amazing. Knowledgeable, friendly, patient. Also caring... he stopped in a hotel to get a pair of slippers for one of the group members that wore high heeled shoes. He made history come alive, and is the reason I am giving this tour 5 stars.

This could have been fabulous- bad guide
For €320 I expected much more. Our guide gave us a marked up book, couldn’t remember many of the dates and had to keep borrowing the book to look for them. She was incredibly soft spoken and hard to hear, and not dynamic in anyway. I thought this would be the highlight of our trip based on the reviews, so a word of warning-make sure you don’t get Christina as a guide. She was a nice lady, but not suited to this type of activity at all-almost no personality. I am tempted to ask for a partial refund.
