During our visit the organist was playing music. It was wonderful time. The place is marvelous with colourful window-glasses and lots of statues. Entrance has been recently renovated and sculptures are obviously clean and lively. Great experience out of time.

not to be missed, impressive quantity of recumbent and praying figures. Easy to access, perfect with combined tickets with Le Panthéon.

La basilique abrite env. 70 gisants, tombeaux, cénotaphes et orants ou priants. Je vous recommande de faire la visite commentée qui est gratuite et extrêmement intéressante et enrichissante. Elle raconte l’histoire de l’édifice, de la crypte et de la monarchie.

The guide, Marion, is great, very knowledgeable and passionate. Good at explaining. She really makes herself available in order to make sure you understand every single aspect of what she's saying. What more for a guide ?
Bottom-line, this was an excellent visit specially for those who want to know more about the story of Kings and Queens of France via St Denis Basilica.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our private tour of the Basilica of St Denis with our fantastic guide, Martin. We learned so much about the origins of the church, Gothic architecture, and the royals who were laid to rest here. If you love history, enjoy Gothic architecture, love learning about royalty, and have a thing for beautiful churches -- this is your tour! It helps that it wasn't crowded at all!
Of our multitude of European tours & guides we've had over the years, this tour and our guide Martin was absolutely one of our favorite. Martin's knowledge and passion for history made the tour especially enjoyable and memorable. We're so happy we were able to book this tour and see this gorgeous part of French history. And we're excited to have made a new friend and hope to meet up with Martin again on another adventure through Paris.

This was the best tour we've taken in France! Our tour guide, Marouane, spoke perfect English, was born in Paris, and was a former history teacher. I love history and I could not trip him up. He knew the answer to every question I had--Marouane really knows his history! He did a great job of making the tour fun and interesting for my 10 year old and 14 year old-even taking our pictures at the end. The crypts at St. Denis were especially cool!

We are always especially pleased to read that our guests enjoyed the Basilica at St Denis as it's so often overlooked by visitors to Paris, and it's such a wonderful visit. You wouldn't think that so many royal corpses would be entombed in such a place - it's not surprising that it ended up being a place of pilgrimage. It was a 2 hour tour and the guide who took me was very knowledgeable. Very much a historical tour.

Our group of six, spent a memorable two hours on a guided tour of Basilica St Denis with Herve from Memories DMC France. Herve brought the fascinating history of this Basilica fully to life. He demonstrated an amazing and effortless knowledge about his subject matter, and presented the information with passion, flair and a great deal of humour.
It was the most wonderful tour, and we all felt enriched by the experience!
