The worst experience we have ever had. The weather was in the low 30's and we were stuck outside for over an hour past the start time waiting for the groups to be let in. The tour guide continually said just a couple more groups ahead of us and they just came piling past us. We were freezing to a point we couldn't feel our feet or hands and finally told the guide we were going to have to cancel and go back to Paris after spending over a $100 for roundtrip transportation. The guide said there wouldn't be a problem cancelling but were then denied any refund. We had so looked forward to the tour but the service was not provided as promised and it was a miserable day. DO NOT BOOK with this company.

We are very sorry to read your comments, and that you decided to forgo your tour. There were indeed some delays at the entrance at Versailles on the day of your tour, we have not been able to obtain any explanation from them as to why this happened.
We book our entry reservations up to 12 months in advance. Each group has an entry time and they are spaced 10 minutes apart to ensure that the groups flow through smoothly and there are no hold ups. These reservations allow us to skip the long lines that form for the individuals who go through another entrance. Under normal circumstances there are only a few minutes wait at most, our tours are timed to arrive and go straight in.
We are very sorry that you had to wait in the cold. Our guide did her very best to get you all in as fast as possible, but the Versailles palace guards control the entry doors and were insisting that the groups went in order, which they should of course, but not with such a delay. As I'm sure you saw, exactly the same thing was happening to all the groups and guides that were booked there on that morning, it was not in any way specific to our company. Again, we do not know why they were so late and we are sorry you were impacted by it.
Versailles will not allow us any kind of refund for the delays at the entrance and I'm afraid that although we do have a very flexible refund policy up to 24 hours before your tour departure time, we are not able to refund once the tour has started. All the tickets and reservations are confirmed and paid for and we ourselves are not able to get any kind of refund that we can pass on, even if it is the entry system at the palace that is at fault.
Once again we are very sorry that you were held up and decided not to take the tour. Versailles is a very popular site and the Christmas holiday period one of the busiest of the year. It's no excuse for you to be kept waiting, but the large numbers of visitors do sometimes cause blockages. Please rest assured ourselves and our guides always do our utmost to ensure our tours run on time and smoothly.
We hope that you had a wonderful stay here in Paris nevertheless and that we may have the opportunity to take you to Versailles on a future visit in better conditions.

Great 1/2 visit and tour. The gardens were amazing and super enjoyable. Our tour guide was terrific, and just the right amount of information was shared. The palace tour was crazy crowded and less enjoyable because of the massive amounts of people in small spaces.

Versailles really can be a crush, but we are trained to be able to navigate the massive crowds and make sure you get to see what you need to see. To be able to take advantage of the half-day tour really allows you to soak in the atmosphere and the history in a more relaxed fashion - we're so glad you did, and glad too in reading your lovely review. Claire was amazing. Funny, insightful, her enthusiasm was contagious and her knowledge of the Versailles Palace and Gardens was very thorough. 18 people made it very easy to navigate. Allow plenty of time if utilizing the train system to get to the meeting place on time.

We loved hearing about the palace and the kings and also how things and decisions made then are still being felt today. Our guide Humberto Farias was amazing and really knew his stuff. And that combined with his great sense of humor and wit was a perfect combination.

Excellent tour with well informed and calm guide It was easy to hear the guide and her commentary was interesting and easy to understand. She also navigated us through very crowded areas. It would have been overwhelming without her.

Hello! We depart from Javel metro station. It's very easy to get to, we have a coordinator there to greet you and your guide will also be there and escort you to Versailles on the train.

Hi. I just want to double check this tour includes access to the fountains and musical fountains. Furthermore, we are interested to hire bikes and cycle around the gardens so would we have time to do that and can we pre-book bikes to hire there?

Hello, thank you for your question. Our tours go to Versailles on the days that there are either the musical gardens or the fountain show. The fountain shows are on Saturdays and Sundays from April through October, and also Tuesdays from May 21 to June 25. You can hire bicycles at the palace, our guide will be happy to help you arrange this after your tour. Our tours travel to Versailles by train so you can stay as long as you like after your tour. Your guide provides tickets and instructions for how to get back, it's very simple, trains depart every 15 minutes and all go to central Paris.

Hello! Yes, there are many other wonderful things you can visit in Versailles. The Petit Trianon and hamlet are very beautiful, you can also enjoy the town which has a lovely food market, antiques shops, the King's vegetable garden, some wonderful restaurants and much more! Your guide will be happy to offer suggestions and advice as to how best to enjoy all that you want to see. We also offer an add on guided visit to the Petit Trianon and Hamlet if you decide on the day that you'd like to stay with your guide.
