Wonderful trip and excellent tour guide. Lunch was incredible. Would highly recommend the tour!! The musuem, landing beaches, battlefields and cemetery is a must to experience the history of WWII.

WE hired a tour guide / docent for a day while staying in the Normandy. It added extra information to being able to go to places and hearing how it impacted the people there as well as what events occurred in each place. We went to both American and german cemeteries which was not necessarily on our list, but were convinced by the tour guide to do so. Great to see the differences in how each culture memorializes their fallen.

This was truly a wonderful day trip! Our party included teens. The trip gave them a history lesson that they cannot appreciate from reading about World War II and Nornandy. The tour guide was truly knowledgable and shared facts that are not in textbooks. That you Olivia!

July 2017: Our guide, a young lady named Cat who speaks excellent English, met us at the train station. Cat gave us a wonderful tour of Ste. Mare Eglise, Point du Hoc, Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery. My husband, our two teen daughters, and I heard Cat's detailed and thorough history of the war and the D-Day battle from the French perspective. I took copious notes and am so happy to have had this opportunity. Seeing the battlefields and beaches, touching the sand, and reading over the grave markers was very meaningful. WWII will never be just a textbook chapter.

Took a tour with Normandy Sightseeing Tours of the American landing beaches. Tour guide Adrian was great. Young guy who is very passionate about history, Norman history and of course D-Day. While everyone wants to see the main sights, the tour is flexible to any sights you want to add. Very flexible. Our tour was a full day tour and the pace was perfect, saw everything we wanted to see (Utah, Omaha, St. Mare-Eglise, American cemetery) but also threw in German cemetery and Maisy battery, so good flexibility. Adrian has been asked every question so his descriptions answer your questions before you ask. Having a live person orient you to the what was going on, on each beach/landing zone and the timing of everything really brings it to life and clarifies what was going on. Highly recommend.

We booked a small group private tour with Bertrand Saudrais and he was outstanding in every way. He picked us up at our place exactly as promised. He had everything planned so well and he was a wealth of knowledge. He really made the tour special. His personality was very pleasing and he was patient with our questions. Bertrand really had a great sense of humor. Our tour exceeded the advertised time so that we could experience all the sights. This was one of the best tours we have been on and it was due to Bertrand. Book him if at all possible!

Do you pick up near cruise ships in Cherbourg??? Also the ship sails at 5 pm... .would it be possible to do a tour a bit earlier so we could get back?

I will tell you that you can take a train easily from Cherbourg to Bayeux for the tour. They will pick you up at the train station in Bayeux I am sure. Contact them.
