We missed our tour bus and after a few phone calls we were picked up by mini van instead. Our tour guy name was Djilani. We had a great time with him and the other couple from the same ship. He shows us all the most important places in the city in a very interesting prospective. It was fun!

Djilani was an excellent tour guide. There was a little mix up in the meeting place, but we were able to call him and everything worked out. There was only the 2 of us, where I think it was supposed to be a group. He could have cancelled easily because of so few numbers, but did not. That is true customer service. He even drove us in his personal BMW. He took us to all the sites described and we were able to have more free time at each location because is was just the two of us. He was very descriptive and knew the history of the city well. We would tour with him again if we come back to Marseille.

My (adult) son and I came to Marseille, France on a cruise ship (March 2023). We were greeted by a great driver/tour guide in a comfortable 8 passenger van. When we drove from site to site, Djilani shared with us some history and tips for when we went to see sites on our own. His wonderful humor added a pleasure to the days trip. We even had time for a couple of local bonus stops, the historical Le Four des Navettes (1781) and a contemporary architectural masterpiece, Hotel Le Corbusier. After the tour we decided to spend some more time at the old port and Djilani was wonderful by helping us arrange a ride back to the ship on time. Thank you Djilani! I would highly recommend and trust to work with Domitia Tours.

First off it is never advertised that you have to be a passenger on a cruise ship to book this tour. We were not on the cruise ship and there was a gate that only cruise ship passengers can pass through to get to the meeting point. After driving around panicking I finally found a number on the website. When I called them they told me the bus had broken down and the tour was cancelled for the day. This forced us to drive ourselves around marseille which was a disaster as it is like driving around New York City but worse.

Once you accept that this will be a large group tour then it's all good from there. Read the recent reviews and you'll see this company is not doing small groups even though it's still advertised that way. In all fairness they advised me several days before the trip that we were getting switched to a large group but we decided to stay with them anyways.
The tour itself was very enjoyable and our guide, Paco, was very knowledgeable and personable. He gave us lots of history and talked extensively about all the points of interest. Paco also suggested many restaurants depending on what specialty we wanted, like bouillabaisse or vegetarian, etc.
4 stars because this was never going to be a small group but Paco was a great guide.

It started with the last being late to the meeting spot. The confirmation note said to get to the meeting spot 15 min before the tour starts. The tour was supposed to start at 9, the lady got to the pick up a spot at 9.
The tour went downhill from there. It was supposed to be a guided tour of Marseille. The first thing the driver said when he got into the car: "I am not a guide". He was a taxi driver who was driving people around the city and stopping at the main attraction. There was absolutely no tour, instead the driver was on the phone. We ended up leaving the tour after the first stop and got onto Hop on, Hop off tour.
I usually order all my tours through Viator.com and some of them better than others. This was a waste of $320 (there were 4 of us). I requested my money back, will see what happens.

We are a tour operator and also a taxi company as we did have several colleagues got covid on that day and for safety matter we did try to make the tour and not to spoil your day and canceled at the last moment but apparently things did not work as we did expect .all our colleagues we are tour guid but that day was particular that my colleague he was not a certified guid that's why he sad he is not by paper that's what he mean but he is by experience.we do apologies for the inconvenience and the bad experience that you had we will take your feed back as an advise and we will try to make things better for futur guest thanks again.

I am not sure I would call this a tour. While we did see some very interesting places...it felt more like we were in a taxi being driven from place to place. While the driver was friendly, he was not a "tour guide". Perhaps it was my misunderstanding of what to expect but when I book a "tour" I would anticipate a little more than that is "(name of church/site) and how old it is before being told to be back at the car in 20 minutes to drive to next site." Again, the sites were great but not a tour.

DO NOT use this tour operator. We booked this as a small group tour but there were over 50 people on the bus. It was very unorganized and there were no audio devices so we couldn’t hear what the guide was saying. Terrible tour and a waste of time and money!

My cruise ship, The Allure of the seas, docks AT 9am on the 15th September. I won't have enough time to do the 9:00 tour. Please do you have any other times for this tour. The ship is in Port until 6p.m.
So if we can get back to it by 4pm that's fine. But i really wouldn't be able to do the 9a.m. tour. Is there any way we can do a later time. I really want to do this tour.

REally enjoyed this tour. They were very aware of the time to make sure we got back to the ship without any problems. They seemed to be flexible. You should write them and ask the same question, they appeaared to be quite flexible and may even provide a custom time for you
