Belle balade de deux heures dans Munich

Belle visite tranquille, mais complète, guide, compétent et sympathique. À recommander. J’ai seulement un peu regretté que la visite initiale prévue en français se soit finalement déroulée en anglais avec mon accord.

In Munich with my MIL to visit her home country of Germany

We had an excellent 2 hour tour of Munich. Our guide Simone was over the top! He met us outside our hotel for our convenience and even helped us find our departure points for tours the rest of the week. His knowledge of the city and points of interest were spot on. He was interesting and funny in sharing the history of the city. The time went by quickly but we were never rushed. He took our interests into account and geared the tour accordingly. We would give him more stars if possible !!!👍👍👍👍

Simply a huge disappointment - a tour with no value.

I like to book private tours for local experiences when I travel, whether for food, drinks, city highlights, or even shopping. However, this 'Munich Like a Local: Customized Private Tour' is nothing like it advertised 'Get to know the city through the eyes of a passionate local.' My tour guide has zero knowledge about the city, arranges nothing before the tour (not even a route!), and was quite rude to my boyfriend and me.

Following are a few reasons why you should avoid this tour:

1. The two-hour tour feels like walking around the city with someone who just arrived with a negative attitude. The no set of itinerary is supposed to be a customized experience. I contacted our tour guide five days prior to the tour to introduce ourselves, tell her what we like, and we will let her decide where we will visit in order to see the city highlights of her own version. However, She shows up with no route planned, no double-checking what's open and what's not, no insight about any landmarks besides the name, etc. After a two-hour trip, we learned no general overview of the city, nor any practical information.

2. Our guide has no clue why she wants to take us to see a place. As Germany is a Catholic country, there is no surprise we will visit churches. She showed up and said, 'I know nothing about this because this is not my culture,' but she kept bringing us to different churches and letting us walk around by ourselves. What is the point of that? We keep walking around and google on our phones. Again, if the Catholic culture is not something she feels familiar with, she could have arranged other stuff instead. Or at least prepare what she wanted to say on a piece of paper.

3. Our guide has no passion for the city at all - she can't answer any of our questions. Her introduction about the landmarks was simply 'This is an XYZ.' We need to ask more questions because we wish her to elaborate a bit more, not because we wish her to explain the whole history of a building. Additionally, her response was either 'I don't know' or 'I told you, this is an XYZ. Let's go or you can walk around.' And to be honest, 3/4 of the trip we were walking on irrelevant streets, such as shopping streets or streets with empty offices. We fully appreciate we need to walk to get somewhere but with a bit of thought ahead, she could have avoided this by planning a route (AND SHE DIDN'T). After all, isn't that the basics of being a guide?

4. She was rude to my boyfriend and me during the trip. Not only did she just kind of talk about herself for most of the trip (I learned more about her german classes experience than Munich). She mocked my marketing job when I introduced myself and questioned my boyfriend's finance job (she literally shouted and laughed, 'your job is so boring, how can you do that?' a few times)...this was beyond our imagination. At the end of the day, we are still her customers, not her friends that she can say whatever she likes.

Overall it was the biggest disappointment of our trip. After contacting their customer service, I am shocked they have the audacity to say their tours 'connect travelers with locals who are passionate about their city and love to meet new people, not providing detailed historical facts' - there is obviously no screening process in their company of who can be a tour guide. They sent whoever to you without any idea what you will get as a customer. So, please spend your money on other tours (even a segway tour would be better than this) because why do you want to waste your precious time with someone that is not from local, have extremely limited knowledge about the attractions, no passion for the city, doesn't organize anything for you, and simply rude?

Nice way to get to know the city

Had a lovely 2 hour walking tour with a very friendly guide. Was a good way to get our bearings - but wouldn't recommend for an informative / historical tour. Cost over 100 pounds which I don't think is good value for the tour, especially considering there are free tours which would be more informative.
