Having done this type of tour in several other cities, this was not the best experience. Positives were that the sales lady was friendly and helpful, the upper deck of the bus was warm and the route covered all the key sights. However, it was not clear where to get the headphones and the stops were not clearly signposted or announced. We did the full route without stopping as I heard other passengers say that the buses were not very frequent. Would be a better experience if the stops were clearly marked and announced.

Information is inadequate. There is no shuttle to Charlottenburg on winter week days and the buses stop at 5pm not 6pm. The literature and the website in English does not say any of this. Apparently the website in German is correct - only useful if you speak the language.

The stops for the hop on/hop off are vague (at the Hauptbahnof for example) when a more precise location would be immensely helpful. Then we waited for at least an hour for the first bus to come. Several calls to the office were made by several people waiting and we were told "in about 5 minutes" each time. When the bus came, it was standing room only, which meant there was also no place to plug into the audio tour. Compared to other tours from different companies and in different cities, this audio tour wasn't even that interesting, I'd rate it as OK. However given all of the troubles we had on the tour, I'd advise going with a different company. We did see many red buses come and go while waiting for City Circle.

Biggest improvement tip: employ better staff
If I could give zero, or minus, stars I would. Pay attention to the volume of 1-star reviews that fill this list, they are accurate and not mere manifestations of errant expectation or entitlement of users.
It seems projection, and passing the buck, is global, which, in its own way, is reassuring, I suppose, in this tumultuous time. I recognise this statement could be turned around on me, but I am confident that my sense of consideration for others and general decorum, and for good manners in general, support my position.
So much for the much-vaunted German efficiency. Start at the back of the queue and work forward. Blame others for failings. Thats the long and short of it.
Poorly organised and badly managed by surly staff who, with the expected Teutonic lack of irony, called me rude. This for not moving out of the way of people who turned up after me and tried to barge past me to jump on the bus. This seems to be the way in Germany
I was first there, head of the queue, patiently waiting but, for some reason, the member of staff started validating at the rear of thr queue. I say reason but it was so stupid, so devoid of sense or logic, that the term reason surely cannot be applied. As I was not willing to suffer the barging/lack of decorum or the attendant poor, inefficient customer service, the staff member's inability to manage a line, I stood my ground. He showed behaviour worse than incompetence by talking brusquely, in an accusatory manner, to a customer,calling me rude, and tacitly blaming me for his failings.
Most damningly, during this, the staff member dragged me out of the queue, presumably in an attempt to exert dominance and/or humiliate me. I suppose you look for the smallest demonstrations of power and relevance when you rock a greasy, lank ponytail and are stuck in a low-paid, dead-end job (a touch of an ad hominem, I grant you, but it's more to help you identify the bloke so you can ensure that you avoid him, and mean, maybe, but his behaviour invited it, in response).
The tour itself is okay, though the "audiotour" is 80% saccharine muzak or fifth-rate sub-europop.
Berlin, as a city, is interesting. Service, in general, is poor and graceless. This was the worst example, though. Use one of the other bus tours, there are loads and surely none can be as bad as, let alone worse than, this.

TERRIBLE! Avoid if you're an English speaker. The boat trip - offered no English commentary and it was dull so don't bother. The lady that served drinks was excessively rude and totally ripped us off. When I contacted them to complain they told me to contact their contracted boat company - which was unhelpful considering I paid them! Then the buses were infrequent and the commentary was out of date. Avoid!

From a cost point of view and the fact there where one bus for whole tour in Berlin, we decided on this company,
The bus was clean and the drivers did a great job, but technically side did not work properly. Often it change language during the tours (not only in one bus) and the information was in the lower end, and often not updated. Behind the trees you can see,….there was no trees.

Eine gut gewählte Route durch Berlin mit vielen Stops und schlichten Informationen per Kopfhörer ohne gezwungene Lustigkeit oder "Füllgerede".
Vollkommen unnötig und unangemessen ist die namentliche Erwähnung des Attentäters vom Breitscheidplatz. Eine solche Honorierung empfinde ich als Beleidigung für die Opfer.
Größere und/oder schwerere Personen seien vor der Breite der Sitze gewarnt.

The route is fine - but there are too few information in the audioguide. Most of the time it is music - and important buildings and stories are not told. the numbe of stops on the route is adequate.

Actually the bus ride wasn't bad and the devices with earphones let you hear the tour in the language of your choice. That is all good. Trouble is when you get to the end of the day you may not get back to where you started. Even though the interactive map with bus departure times says there is a bus leaving as late 5:58 or 6PM our driver stopped his bus at 5:40PM at stop #19 out of 23 stops, told us the tour was over and kicked us off. Fortunately Berlin has good public transportation and we were able to get a train back to our hotel.

HI booked a 2 day Berlin city hop on/off tour with cruise ....what colour are these buses as I see there are a few hop on/off buses. Just need to be sure we catch the right bus. The video referring to this commences with a building then there is just a quick glimpse of inside of bus with passenger reading a map. This tour departs from Alexanderplatz.

There are 2 bus companies, both seem to operate the same routes, but have different bus stops, though most are very close. As with the previous answer, both tops usually have people selling tickets who will point you in the right direction, though they tend to disappear late in the day.
