Sombre, thought provoking… brilliant guide
This is a tough day out
A difficult subject very well explained by an expert guide. Thank you Georgia.
There’s a lot of walking. Consider the weather conditions as there is very little shelter and no opportunity to purchase food and hot drinks once you’ve boarded the train.
In minus 5 degrees it wasn’t always comfortable despite our many layers but this made the experience even more poignant.
It’s a FULL day out. All tour, no rest, not even to eat. So go prepared.
A must do when visiting Berlin.
Insider Tours are very well organised and we on very good hands for the duration.

Sachsenhausen Camp
Campbell, the tour guide, had a background in history and was amazing. He had humor in his style and great respect for the camp and the significance of loss and memory of the people. He was always checking for questions and answered questions thoroughly. The site was a place all people need to see and reflect about the history and the meaning of for the past and future. Be prepared to have food with you for a snack and in winter dress very warmly, start to finish is 6 hours and no food is available at the site

Eyes opened

consigliatissimo a completamento di un viaggio a Berlino

Prenotazione molto facile e veloce, tour in Inglese. Ritrovo a Berlino, si raggiunge Sachsenhausen con il treno, puntuale e pulito come tutti i trasporti pubblici, in circa 45 minuti. Tutti i documentari e i film visti sull'argomento non ti preparano comunque all'emozione che si prova a varcare il cancello di un campo di concentramento. La guida (Chris? non ricordo bene) ha dato un taglio molto particolare, analizzando anche il comportamento dei carcerieri e delle persone che vivevano nel paese intorno al campo. Molto interessante e molto preparata.

Very worth the time and money

Our guide, Cambell, is awesome. He is very knowledgeable and encourages us to think. I brought my 11-year-old daughter with me. This was a very educational tour for her and all of us. We need to know the history to understand more our current world.

Excellent tour, would highly recommend 5/5
Campbell was an excellent tour guide. My partner and I really enjoyed the tour as he was extremely knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. He was open to questions and conversation relating to topics spoken about. Would highly recommend!

Sachsenhausen guided tour

Had previously done a tour with the same company and so the bar was set high but this tour did not disappoint. Will our guide was clearly well versed in the ideologies of nazi germany and very much the bigger picture and made a point of educating us as a group of understanding the wider complexities and layers which contributed to the use of concentration camps in Nazi Germany. It was also nice to have conversations with Will as a fellow Brit and he gave us loads of recommendations for where to go on a evening. Great tour, great guide 👍

Worth it to pay for a Guide

Thomas was a great guide! Despite the camp having free admittance, I think the information provided by Thomas helped us to get a better understanding of those events around that time.

The tour ran from 10-4 and there is quite a bit of walking so wear comfortable shoes.

Great tour and Peter is amazing!

This was the most informative trip my girlfriend and I have been on! We went on the tour and our guide Peter was the most respectful yet insightful guide that we’ve ever had (and we’ve been on quite a few tours). He had the answer to every question we might’ve had and he came from a perspective that made everything understandable. Strongly recommend!
