Thomas was the most captivating, enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide we’ve ever had in Europe. He customized our tour to focus on the German history that my son was interested in—rather than generic book information. He really brought German history to life. It’s the first tour that my son was disappointed when it ended!

Zeker op voorhand boeken. In het begin van je trip doen dan heb je een mooi overzicht over de stad. Audio guide nemen en Nederlands is mogelijk. Zowel toegang als audio guide is gratis.

I had another company set up two private tours in Berlin. They chose A Friend in Berlin and my guide was Josh. I'm a bit remiss in posting a review. I had the tours in mid-September and then got carried away by the rest of my trip. But I enjoyed the tours so much I wanted to make sure that I gave them a five-star rating. Josh was knowledgeable, interesting and interested in my questions and what I wanted to see. The first tour was a Highlights of Berlin scheduled for the day after my arrival. I really felt that I got an excellent baseline of the city, its history and its culture. The second tour piggybacked on the first with a bit more emphasis on WWII. I would highly recommend A Friend in Berlin.

We had a great tour of 3.5 hours walk of "Historical Berlin". Our guide was a French guy ,Xavier and he was great. He was passionate about the history , explained everything brilliantly with every details .
He had a great sense if humour and kept the group together throughout 3.5 hours. Thanks Xaviers for a great tour !!!

Thomas brought me and my children all across Berlin, west to east, by foot, bus and train, always stopping along the way to explain and elaborate on the vastly different periods of German history and the impact they've left on the surrounding environment. A really thoughtful, nourishing tour.

Our company visited Berlin for a few days, and enjoyed an educating tour with Jo. She is a great storyteller and give you the best and greatest insight to some of the main landmarks and historical buildings. She has a good sense of humour and you can tell that she loves the city of Berlin as much or even more than her own family. We had a two hour trip, but I would recommend a three hour trip as time flies when you are in great company. I would highly recommend Jo and A Friend in Berlin.
