We wanted something special to celebrate my wife’s birthday with friends. This is a great way to experience Malaga’s tapas bars and restaurants. Our guide Elise was full of interesting facts about the city and its history and made the experience extra special.

When in Málaga we wanted to do a food tour and on looking thru TripAdvisor decided to book with Spain Food Sherpas and we are so glad that we did! The tour was fantastic and led by our lovely guide Anaïs who was very knowledgeable on the food, wine and area in general. Anais made us feel welcomed into the small group (12 in total which I felt was a nice amount of people) and explained how the wine and tapas tour would run before heading off to our first port of call - the oldest bar in Málaga, here we sampled sweet wine and some tapas before walking along the beautiful streets to the next place. In total we visited 4 places with Anaïs pointing out places of interest and recommending places for eating along the way. The food was plentiful and delicious and was so interesting to be told some background information of the food we were eating. The tour lasted approx 4hrs. At the end of the tour we were given a leaflet with recommended bars, food places to go try. I'm glad we booked this trip at beginning of our stay as it allowed us to go back to some of the places we visited on the tour and also try out some of the recommended places. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour hosted by the lovely Anaïs and we personally felt this tour was a highlight to our stay in Málaga and absolutely wouldn't hesitate to book a tour again using this company. A very personal, fascinating tour of Malaga with some good wine and a lot of great observations and conversations. Eye-opening in how the city has evolved and Southern Spain continues to change, and the food was great too!

Our tour guide Javi gave us a very enjoyable and interesting tour. He made us all welcome, looked after us and was very knowledgeable about the foods and wines that we tasted. The tour was well worthwhile and I would happily recommend to others. Javi was excellent!

Highly recommend this tour, we went as a group consisting of 3 couples and were joined by 4 ladies who had booked separately.
José was our guide for the evening, and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and informative about the local food scene and origins of the food we were eating.
Started with an aperitif in the oldest pub in town, a busy little place with all the wines in casks behind the bar.
Our second stop was a charming place that specialised in cold cuts of meat and local wine/sherry. We sampled around 6 different meats and had a glass of sherry/port, all very tasty and probably not what I would have picked had I not been guided by José.
We then moved on to a beautiful place, a square surrounded with orange trees where we had the main part of the meal.
Bread & olives, sliced fried aubergines with a choice of red or white wine, followed by pork loin in a red wine sauce and patatas fritas (chips) the whole thing was delicious.
Our final stop was a 10 minute stroll through town to a small restaurant just behind the cathedral. Once again we had the choice of a local red or white wine and a selection of tapas, we had ham croquettes and the gazpacho, washed down with another small glass of wine.
The experience overall was excellent, and our guide José was a major contributor.
*Please note that the menu was based upon our group’s dietary preferences (not many wanted seafood dishes) so if you make them aware in advance they will cater towards your preferences.

We had no experience at all, the Führer did not come. Waited 30 minutes, called the organizer, everything was useless.

After reviewing our records, we found no booking under your name. Yesterday, we had one tour scheduled at 5:30 PM, which took place as planned with other clients from Viator as well. We also received a call from you at 7:15 PM, which is why we believe there might have been some misunderstanding regarding the timing or the details of your booking.
Since you booked our tour through Viator, we have already reported this matter to investigate further and clarify what may have happened.

Everybody who have time in the evenings in Málaga, likes wine degustacions and great athmosphere should attend this tour. I've taken my tour on 23rd November 2024.
With Fernando we've met 4 very famous bars and restaurants in Málaga, including famous Antigua Casa de Guardia, where you can drink the sweet red wine straight from the barrel.
In addition to the 5 wines which you are testing, you will get soup, 4 tapas and a part of paella to eat. If you are not really into the red wine, you can choose to taste the white wine instead.
The guide is a very kind person, explaining everything in english and spanish. The trips worths the money you are paying. When I will be next time in Málaga, I will for sure take this trip once again.

We booked the tour for our first evening in Malaga. Fernando was great from start to finish. There were 12 of us in total - a mixture of couples, friends and singles, of different nationalities. Fernando managed to properly engage with everyone in the group, and made sure people were happy throughout the experience.
We visited four different tapas bars (we had to miss one out due to the flooding) where we were able to sample different tapas and local drinks. Fernando gave us plenty of information about what we were eating and drinking and arranged alternatives for us without any fuss. He also suggested other bars and restaurants we might like to try.
It was a great evening, with a perfect host. We would definitely recommend the tour to others.

We had a terrific international group, including a nice couple with a small baby. Our guide, Fernando, was excellent. He was able to engage with everyone and led us through the fabulous market (one of the oldest in Europe) to sample the best of Malaga’s delicious gastronomical delights. We also enjoyed tastings at three outstanding restaurants. I highly recommend this adventure!

Hi there. I'm in Malaga with my 15-year-old Son next week and wouldn't mind doing this wine and tapas tour. Can he come along? (obviously he can't drink alcohol) And would I need to pay a full priced ticket for him? Regards

Would like to book this the first week of August, looks fantastic but we don’t all eat meat, we have 3 pescatarians and one regular meat eater in our group, is it worth it -is that too big of an inconvenience?
Is that something we can make known prior to the tour?
