Tour from Seville to Alhambra

The driver was so nice and punctual, also she was always asking if we need something to do the trip comfortable for us. The Guide in the Alhambra was very clever and he really knew the history of the place. After the Alhambra, we got some time to know Granada. For all that we got, I think the price of this tour has a very god value.

Alhambra is great, but misleading tour title and description

To say that this is a ‘small group tour OF the Alhambra’ is incredibly misleading. It is actually a small group transport to the Alhambra where you end up in a bilingual much larger group. The company buries this in the detail of the description and, judging by comments here, we weren’t the only ones annoyed by the actual outcome. I know others in our group were vocal as well, but there is nothing you can do about it once at the Alhambra because those guides work directly for the site itself, not this company. The 3+ hour drive each way was rough as our driver often sped up, slammed on the breaks, and swerved. We were more than a little car sick. The Alhambra itself was incredible, but we’re wishing now that we’d gotten there another way. Paying extra for the small group was not worth it.

Alhambra Guided Tour from Seville

The alhambra transfer is punctual and the bus has water, wifi and charger as stated. The driver is very friendly and always offering us water. Our tourguide Enrique at the alhambra is very knowledgeable and gave us a detailed explanation on the history and architecture of the palace.

Not what we expected, very disappointed

This was advertised as a full day guided tour through Get Your Guide the company we booked with, although apparently it was Iberian Mobility who run the tour. However this was certainly not a full day guided tour....More a tour of the Alhambra with a lift there and back. Only met guide at the Alhambra...would have been nice to have a guide throughout to point out more history and info about Andalusia on the way. Stopped for comfort break 2 and a half hours into a three hour journey at an overpriced services. Then had hour and a half free time in Granada at 11.15 but had to get lunch then as no time after the Alhambra, although we stopped again around 45 minutes into our return journey at another pretty poor services so would have preferred to drive straight through really. Then when we arrived the company mucked up our tickets....tour guide said they sometimes do spot checks on passports at each entrance of the alhambra so we had to pretend to be "Hugo and Ana" and tell them we left our passports at home. "Hopefully they will let you in!!!" HOPEFULLY??? After spending over £200 on this tour I would expect a full refund if we didn't get in. Luckily we did but my wife and I spent the whole tour worrying as a result. Tour guide was great however...she was freelance and not part of the tour company hence an extra star for her as she knew her stuff and was very friendly and engaging. Overall distinctly average. Very disappointed

We thank you for your feedback and apologise for the inconveniences. Please note on the tour description it specifies that the Alhambra tour is guided and the visit to Granada is free time. Despite the guides being freelancers if you read other comments you will notice most of them are professionals who we collaborate with on regular basis. As for the entrances, unfortunately they are nominative and the Monument has a very rudimentary system to upload them which leads to many mistakes that we try to minimize as much as possible. We apologise if the service was not up to your expectations. IM Team

Bait and Switch, not a small group 31 people, typcial cattle herd

"small" group tour of Alhambra from Seville.
We booked via viator. I double confirmed via email with Iberian Mobility and was told there would only be 8 people on the tour the nght before the 8 am departure.. Ended up being 31 people. Moreover, tour in english and spanish. That is whether you spoke english or spanish you only got 90 minutes of the total 3 hour tour. I understand there may be value in this kind of tour from a price point stand point, but its the bait and switch I really object to. Rare one star review by me. Guide herself was reasonable

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are sorry to read it was not up to your expectations. Please note our tour is usually both in English and Spanish, as per the product description - stated as per Viators standards. Also the transportation itself takes place on a 17 seat minibus, that is why our groups can only be up to 17 people. Actually on this particular day we only had 8 people on the tour, so you travelled on a 8 pax group as informed over the phone. As the group was very small the Monument mixed you with another group for the tour to Alhambra making the guided tour a larger group. This is something that unfortunately sometimes happens during high season. Finally the visit to Granada and the trip back where also on a group of 8 people. Please be reassured we did not try to trick anyone. IM Team

Let down at the last minute

I was looking forward to visiting the Alhambra and had booked on to this tour. At 4pm the day before, I got a call to say the tour had been cancelled as not enough people had booked. No alternative was offered.

Due to the late cancellation, I was unable to find an alternative way of getting there and I missed visiting Alhambra altogether. Took an age to get refunded as well. Very annoyed at the incompetence of this company.

Stay clear at all costs......

Ok ....but could have been better for the price...maybe there are better options

We took this one day tour from Seville to Granada.
Some not-so-good points:
1> just a day before our trip, I got an email asking if we can postpone this trip by 2 days and it didn't explain what if we can not....I had to scramble to let them know that this is not an option and if we are on as planned?
2> Our minibus driver was really not accommodating. I think she just wanted to complete this and be returning as early as possible. For a 5 min restroom break, we literally had to beg for ...and what made it more difficult (like other review says) that she didn't understand English at all. The tour does say 15 min break in 3 hour journey.
3> Description says Wifi access. But it didn't work for us both ways. I don't care but kids would have appreciated it.
4> Water on bus is very limited.

Good:
1> Once you reach there, the tour guide ( Sabina) was knowledgeable. She was pleasant and accommodating old people, parents with young kids etc. She gave the tour in both languages. In fact she is the reason, I am giving this tour 3 star rating as against 2 stars.

Somewhat misleading

First, this is a bilingual tour- Spanish and English. Our bus driver did not speak any English. The tour guide, knowledgeable, would first speak in one language, then another. So if you are on a 2 1/2 hour tour, the speaking time is half of that duration. Also, the description lists a small group of 17 people. This only includes the van ride which meets up with another van upon arrival. We had 25 people on our tour; however the number could be as high as 34 if both vans were full. It was often difficult to hear the guide—maybe because we could not get close enough to her with the group size. After the tour, we were literally dropped off somewhere in Granada with no explanation just a time to return after deciphering with my my broken Spanish. I think one would be better off just hiring a less expensive larger bus tour from Seville.

Thank you for your comments as they help us improve every day. The tour it is indeed bilingual when required, reason why we state it is done by a multilingual guide. As there is a limited number of groups and tourist that can access the monument each day. Most clients find it useful so they can have time to pay attention and time to take pictures and wander around, we are sorry it was not your case. As for the number of people in the tour, it is usually 17 however due to some high-season issues sometimes it has to go up to 25 pax (maximum number per group, allowed by the monument). The Alhambra also has a policy of providing headphones for groups to get audio-guide to ensure everyone gets relevant information. As for Granada, we do provide maps to help make the most of your time there so we will enquiry why this did not happen on your day, thanks for the information and apologies for the inconveniences. Un vrai plaisir de visiter un aussi beau lieu

Depuis le temps que je voulais me rendre dans ce lieu et ainsi sortir des belles photos des livres d'art. Si l'extérieur du bâtiment ressemble à ce que l'on peut voir ailleurs en terme de muraille, le moins que l'on puisse dire, c'est que la décoration intérieure est d'un autre niveau. On passe de salle en salle en s'en voulant de ne pas rester plus longtemps tant il y a à voir. La visite est agréable, surtout au printemps lorsque le soleil est présent mais ne transforme pas le lieu en fournaise. Le fait d'avoir limité le nombre de visiteurs par jour rend la visite très agréable car l'on a pas la sensation d'être submergé par le nombre. Il faut s'y prendre à l'avance pour préparer la visite mais le jeu en vaut la chandelle. Il ne faut pas hésiter à y retourner encore et encore car on a jamais fini de s'extasier devant tant de beauté, de légèreté qui contraste parfaitement avec la partie réalisée pour l'empereur Charles Quint. Cette dernière est d'un sinistre qui nous donne envie de faire marche arrière. Sauf que les casques connectés ont une portée limitée et il faut bien suivre le guide qui certes se déplace tranquillement mais qui doit tout de même respecter un timing (notamment les points de passage). Donc allez y avec plaisir. Cela vaut vraiment le coup.
