This excursion from Bilbao was a great experience, even though the day was mostly rainy. Pilar improvised masterfully, with extensive knowledge of local museums, churches (and pastry shops!) in San Sebastián that kept us moving but with respites from the rain. When weather was a drizzle, we kept to the tour schedule, which was great. The pinxtos and wines lived up to their reputation. I was glad “Local Experts Tours” knew the best places to take us. Pilar had great stories, both historical and personal, that added great insight into the region. Then the drive along the coast and walking tour of the charming fishing village of Getaría were perfect as the sun colored the remaining clouds— This was a wonderful day. Highly recommended.

We visited San Sebastian from a Bilbao cruise stop. We did a private tour with Felix and had a great time. Despite the rain, we enjoyed our walking tour around San Sebastian followed by Pintxos and Wine tasting. Felix provided the right mix of tour/information with the food/wine tasting and some free time and it made for a great experience. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Our friends had booked this all day tour for us and it was just the four of us. Adur I. was our guide, and he was outstanding. In addition, to getting us to and from San Sebastián and Getaria , he provided commentary on the Basque culture, history and the current state of affairs in the Basque Country, Spain and the World!!! We loved it!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our walks through San Sebastián (it was during the annual film festival so we were told it was more crowded than usual), and the small seaside town of Getaria. The tour included two stops for pintxos which served as refreshing breaks.
Most important, Adur was extremely sensitive to our limitations…..he walked at a slower pace for us and in Getaria dropped us off rather than make us walk from the van’s parking spot. While we liked seeing and learning about San Sebastián and Getaria, the highlight of the trip was meeting and getting to know Adur; indeed, it helped that we shared similar social and political philosophies.

We just returned from the San Sebastian and Getaria tour with Adur Iriondo. It was one of the most enjoyable day tours we have taken. We visited San Sebastian during their annual film festival. Although somewhat crowded we were able to walk around the town visiting the various sights including the beach area and old town where we enjoyed a delicious sampling of pintxos at two different restaurants.
Much credit goes out to Adur who, being born and raised in the Basque Country, shared his vast knowledge of the region. Not just the history but the "stories" behind the history. He also shared his personal stories growing up in the area. It was not only educational but Adur made it very entertaining -- "edutaining". Adur also followed up with us on other areas to go and eat in the Basque region.
We would highly recommend this full day tour of San Sebastian and Getaria.

Jose was a terrific guide. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and articulate. The pinctios tastings were delicious and a lot of fun. There was a problem with our pickup but Jose handled it so well that we didn’t mind at all.

The tour was fantastic. Our tour guide, Adur, was knowledgeable, friendly and fun! San Sebastián is a beautiful place with rich history.

We took a day trip with Jose, a friendly and knowledgeable guide. He had so much inside knowledge about the city and its history! Very affable and flexible person. The food (pintxos) were great and highlighted the best of the local cuisine. The stop in Getaria was also great, with lovely views along the way. We highly recommend this experience!

Jose and Victoria were excellent guides, despite stating small tour up to 8 we were given a private tour. We found the walking tour of San Sebastian on the slow side, it would have been good to be faster and have some free time. The food provided at two local restaurants was excellent 5 dishes and 4 wine/cider each.
