Amazing… one of the best food tours I’ve ever done. It was our first night in San Sebastián we had just arrived from NY. Our guide Veronica was incredible!!! She went beyond introducing us to the tastes and flavors of pinxtos. She explained the history, the culture of the region. We learned so much and Veronica is so warm and engaging. She had us sample the most incredible food. It was so worthwhile, so glad we did this.

Very friendly and truly knowledgeable. Such a private walking tour is really the only way to learn about an historic city at your own pace. The Pintxo Bar experience is truly unique and thanks to the expert advice received we repeated that for lunch several times in following days.

Our local guide who spoke perfect English met us at our hotel and walked us to the old city. At each of our stops we were served a special Spanish wine, we discussed the Pintxos culture and tasted "off the menu" bites that were EXCEPTIONAL- Michelin worthy. There is no way to access what we ate and drank (and she had tables for us reserved) on our own. We had the best time.

Having never dealt with Basque Tours, I was nervous about sending so much money upfront. Needn't have worried though! The tours were exactly what John and Jani, owners, of their company had advertised. Guides were thorough, professional and excursions were terrific. In fact, they were the highlight of our trip. First, in beautiful San Sebastian, our group of four, booked an historical overview of this lovely city, along with a wine, and yummy pintxos--a famous Basque culinary treat. Next we opted for the "quaint French village" and countryside excursion. Lastly, there was a rollercoaster ride through the mountains and raging seaside near the Guggenheim City of Bilbao. Gorgeous. So...Kudos to Basque Tours!

While traveling in San Sebastian we went on a bike tour and Pintxos/Wine.
Our tour guides were amazing. This was a great way to experience the city.

First we can’t express enough our appreciation for Basque Tours. Jon and Jani have been incredible partners. We were scheduled for two tours in May of last year and due to family circumstances we needed to cancel close to the deadline. Jon and Jani didn’t hesitate to reimburse our deposit right away. They immediately earned our trust. So when it came time for us reschedule our trip to San Sebastián we did not hesitate to contact Jon and Jani. They were immediately on top of things to get us booked and the tours did not disappoint.
Maria was our guide for the City Walk and Pintxos Tour. She is just an amazing person with incredible knowledge on the history and culture of Donastia. Growing up in Donastia Maria was able to share many stories and bring to life the history of the city. And the Pintxos tour exceeded our expectations. It seemed like so many people along the tour recognized her, stopping to say a brief hello and just adding to our experience. The food was excellent and Maria also gave us a list of other Pintxos bars and their specialties to try on our own during our stay. We can’t wait to return and book another tour with Maria of the villages outside of San Sebastián.

Kaisho! We did 2 different tours with Basque Tours. Our first one was to Bilbao to the Guggenheim and to Getaria for lunch at Kaia Kaipe and a tour of the town. We had the pleasure of working with Bicente, who was excellent! So personable, professional and knows his way around both places very well. He is a ture art lover, so the perfect person to tour you through the Guggenheim. Would highly recommend!
Our second tour with the San Sebastian City Car and Walk Tour and Pintxos Tour with our guide, Gorka. He was super chill, personable, knowledgeable and charming. Drove us around to places farther than we could walk to - which I highly recommend this to efficiently see the amazing views and sculptures high on hill tops. Breathtaking photos! Gorka tailored our Pintxos Tour to our tastes, of course, we eat everything! We had a beautiful tasting of an array of different Pintxos paired with Txakoli and Rioja Alava Wines. Excellent - we look forward to going back to amazing San Sebastian! Essarik Asko!

Our guide, Veronica, was fun, informative and a local who knew the best Pinxto bars and the best things to order in each place. We have done many tours with Basque Tours and they have all been fabulous! Their guides are wonderful, and they have relationships with establishments that make your experiences extra special. You can’t go wrong using Basque Tours!

This tour was a perfect way to introduce us to the treats of San Sebastián for our first visit. Our guide educated us in the history and showed us some hidden treasures that only locals know - so much fun!

Basque Tours is such a wonderful group to book various kinds of day trips with and this evening tour to five pixtos restaurants was no exception. Our host, Sandra, was absolutely wonderful as a San Sebastian resident who knows all of the best places to go to sample the town's fabulous food and wines. We were also able to bypass all of the lines as Sandra knows all of the owners well and was able to enter each one, place orders for what she felt was best to sample, and bring all of it to us to enjoy. I highly recommend booking this tour while in San Sebastian.

We have a family of 5. 4 adults and an 8 year old. The 8 year old has some foor allergies and won't eat on a tour. How do we handle that?

We had lots of food restrictions. One vegetarian, one shellfish allergy, one who didn’t eat fish of any kind, and one omnivore. Jani was great working with our high maintenance dietary restrictions!
