My wife and I are currently on our honeymoon, and this tour has been the highlight so far. We were picked up from our hotel in Haro and then went to two incredible and different wineries. One was a small, family-owned winery that allowed us to try wine directly from the barrels (in addition to a tasting). The other was a beautiful winery that gave us a tour of the caves where they have been storing their wine for centuries. We then had a homemade lunch and more wine overlooking a vineyard in La Rioja. In our opinion, that was the best part! Rebeca and Roberto were phenomenal hosts, and they were also so nice to accommodate a vegan diet. We highly recommend!

We had an amazing day with Rebecca touring Rioja. She is a kind, generous, and knowledgeable person who took us under her wing. She was passionate about ensuring that we had a fantastic experience and learned about the history and culture of the region. The first winery she took us to was still producing wine in underground caves, which had existed since about the 15th century. We toured a complex system of underground caves and concrete tanks and learned about how they used to produce wines and how the process evolved over time. We tasted three of their wines paired with charcuterie and cheese. Next, we visited a top-end winery producing stellar wines and saw a different and modern production method. We tasted four remarkable wines in a sophisticated tasting room with charcuterie and cheese. Finally, she and her husband prepared a gourmet lunch for us, which we enjoyed on her terrace overlooking the vineyards. Despite being avid wine travelers who have visited wine regions in Italy, Portugal, France, and the United States, we still learned so much during our day with Rebecca. She also arranged an evening Tapas tour of Longrono with her colleague Fito, who has a wealth of wine information and is a blast to hang out with, and a self-guided bike tour where she hooked us up with a place that rented bikes, planned a route, and made reservations at two wineries for us. Rebecca is your one-stop shop for an amazing experience in Rioja, and you feel like you have a life-long friend and connection after spending a day with her.

We literally just finished the tour and if I could give it 10 stars I would. Rebeca was excellent helping with scheduling and logistics, Fito was a wonderful guide and driver. We have done other wine tours in Burgundy and Bourdoux and this one was the best of the bunch. The wineries were unique and the entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. Seriously one of the highlights of our trip!!

My wife and I booked transportation services through Rioja Like a Native @ €60/hour. Our driver was Fito and he was excellent. He spoke English fluently and was extremely knowledgeable about Rioja wineries. This was an excellent transportation service for visiting wineries in Rioja.
My communications with Rioja Like a Native were very inconsistent and frustrating, however. I contacted them in April and told them that I was interested in booking a Rioja tour focused on tastings, not winery tours. (We’ve toured a lot of wineries don’t have much interest in them.) They said that wasn’t a problem.
After I booked the tour and paid the deposit, however, I was told that I could either do their standard tour (with no standalone tastings) or a transportation-only arrangement. For the transportation option I would have to research the wineries, develop the itinerary and book the wineries on my own. I told them I didn’t like either option and that this wasn’t what I had asked for. At this point I was convinced that this was a bait-and-switch operation.
I subsequently researched a lot of wineries and booked the different visits. Several months after our last email exchange I received an email which provided me with a list of recommended wineries for tastings. It was surprising and inconsistent with their earlier emails. At this point I had already booked everything so I couldn’t use their recommendations. I did feel better, though, that they didn’t seem to be a bait-and-switch operation.
Not sure what happened but it I may have been communicating with different people. I recommend having a specific itinerary in place before committing to a trip with them to be safe.

Unfortunately, your initial message about focusing solely on wine tastings was one of those that slipped through.
At Rioja Like a Native, as our name suggests, we are passionate about offering experiences that go beyond just tastings. Our goal is to create a deeper, more immersive connection with the region’s rich culture, history, and traditions—something you can’t always get from a simple wine bar visit. This is why we typically design comprehensive winery tours rather than focusing only on tastings.
After reviewing your booking, I worked diligently to tailor the experience you requested, contacting each of the wineries you wanted to visit. However, by the time I finalized everything (more than a month before your tour date, leaving ample time to adjust anything necessary), it seems you had already made your own bookings and plans, which I wasn’t aware of.
I believe there may have been some miscommunication on both sides, and I truly appreciate your understanding and patience throughout the process. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we continue to improve, and I’m grateful for your kind acknowledgment that we are not a bait-and-switch operation.

An absolutely wonderful experience. We spent quite a bit of time working to make sure that our visit to Briones was both low key and personal. One of the things that we were pretty certain we didn't to do was jump on a tour bus full of people to wiz through five or six bodegas in 4 hours. To that end, our tour with Fito was exactly what we were looking for. Fito picked us up exactly on time and we started what wound up being a perfeclty relaxed and delightful tour of two of the smaller bodegs in the area. Each of the wineries we visited were fantastic for different reasons. We sat and visited with a staff memeber from each winery and toured and learned about the history of each place. The tour ended with a tasting, snack and very enjoyable conversation. At the end of tour the three of us drove over to San Vicente del Sonsierra for lunch at a small restaurant of local tapas. There are a lot of things we loved about this experience but I think the thing that I liked best was that we never felt hurried or crowded. The pace was slower and allowed us to explore, taste and simply enjoy being away from the hectic pace of life back home. We both thoroughly enjoyed out time on this visit and each of the wineries made it effortless to ship wine home to the United States. I would definitely seek out Rebecca and Fito again if we were coming back!!

Rebeca was a wonderful host, educator, and guide through La Rioja. My boyfriend and I (who do not know wine very well) were looking for an educational but fun experience wine tasting in La Rioja and settled on this day-long tour that featured several wineries and detailed the wine-making process, the history of the region and of course, delicious wine. Almost thought we could settle for a half day experience, but so happy we did a full day where we got to experience the rolling hills and lovely vineyards with a few other travelers. I could go on! Highly recommend.

We did a 2 day Rioja wine tour with Fito. We loved seeing 'off the beaten path' small, family wineries. They were all so unique! and fun! and informative! We had a great group to travel with and had a blast. Thanks Fito and Rebeca for two unforgettable days in lovely Rioja!

There was excellent information and communication throughout the entire process, from booking to the end of the tour.
We were picked up at the hotel on time and received a wealth of valuable information about Rioja and its wines throughout the day. The tour was both entertaining and educational, and we had the opportunity to visit some very interesting wineries. Each winery had its unique approach to wine production, and it was fascinating to see the different techniques used.
We also enjoyed a very pleasant and surprising lunch, featuring delicious local food and wine.
We highly recommend Rioja Like A Native and look forward to joining another tour in the future.

Amazing tour ! Not a tourist general one. Explored old family owned caves in the morning then large wine makers in the afternoon. Our knowledge of the Rioja wine is now so much better. Great visit with awesome people. Very personal

Rebeca and Roberto were fantastic! We visited small and large scale wineries with beautiful views. We also got some great pictures as well since Roberto is a photographer. The last winery was especially a treat. Highly recommend

Hola, el pisado de uvas viene incluido en este tour?, esto puede hacerse en cualquier epoca del año? o en su defecto cual es la epoca de la vendimia?

El pisado de la uva sólo se realiza una vez al año, y suele ser en Octubre (normalmente a finales).
