Be Aware! This tour is half Italian and half English, even if you select the “English-only” option. Although advertised as an English tour, it was conducted in both English and Italian by a single guide, leading to significant delays as the guide alternated between the two languages. To make matters worse, the price is not cheaper than other tours, and we had to pay extra for entrance tickets. Many of us felt misled and cheated by this company.
While the tour was advertised as a 2-hour guided experience in Pompeii, only 1 hour was in English. The remaining time was wasted walking around and waiting for the Italian explanations to finish.
Additionally, the tour company made us wait 25 minutes at the initial meeting point and another 20 minutes at the entrance to Pompeii for the Italian group to arrive from Naples. This company is unprofessional and provides misleading descriptions—avoid booking with them.

Easy meeting spot in Sorrento city center.
Great communications as they cancelled our original tour date and rescheduled for 2 days later, which actually worked out perfect.
We had full van with @ 15 people total. Shuttle Van was very comfortable and our guide MiMi was wonderful and very entertaining - sharing much history and local insights with the group on the hour ride to Pompeii.
Mimi introduced us to Vincent, our licensed Pompeii guide when we arrived. Vincent was wonderful and took us to all the main sites. Pompeii is huge - wish we could have stayed all day but the few hours we were there we did see a lot! I would now be comfortable to go back on my own but this was a great quick intro to visit this amazing site.
There are restrooms and a coffee shop open (in November) at the entrance to the site where you a grab some coffee or a snack.
Next, we all loaded back up in the van and headed up Mt V. We stopped for lunch ($20 EU ea) and it was wonderful - 3 course with wine and optional limoncello ($3EU) afterwards. They should really mention this available lunch option in the advertisement as it would be quite a long day w/o any stop for food.
The climb up Mt V is not for the weak. I’m 57 and not in best shape. it took everything I had to make the climb. Mimi said we had 1 hr and 1/2 to go up and back down. I noticed most people had no issue in competing within this time but it was difficult for me- however- I managed to pull it off, barely.
There are 2 souvenir stands up the hill but no open restrooms (in November). There is a restroom at the entrance but you must purchase something at the store to use the restroom.
I am glad I climbed Mt V so I can say I did it but I could have just stayed at Pompeii all day as it was the highlight for me personally.
We arrived back in Sorrento about 5pm so it was a total of @ 9 hrs start to finish.
I recommend this tour company if you want a guided tour of both locations, Mimi was wonderful and it was a great experience.

Pompeii and Vesuvius tour were both very interesting. Mimi our guide gave us lot of information and ran the tour well. Monica who took us through Pompeii was very informative and our driver was exceptional even on the windy roads I felt safe. Mt Vesuvius is not for 72 year olds with dicky hips though I only made it about a third of the way.

This day was very good, organised well, all on time. Worth the money to be guided. If I went again, I would want a guide walking up Vesuvius as this is what we expected…we didn’t learn anything on that part but were given the time to walk ourselves up and back.

We booked this experience direct through Jet2. It did not disappoint. Our guide for the day on the coach was Luca. He had a great personality and taught us local history via his microphone. We learnt a lot about the lemon business in Sorrento and how everyone comes together and shares on their national public holiday.
Our first stop was Vesuvius. Before we went up we had a toilet break, I advise going. We then had some limoncello tasting via a local farmer and you could purchase things if you liked. We bought Vesuvius fridge magnets. Wear comfy shoes as it’s obviously an uphill walk to the top. Getting through the ticket barriers is hard work. Tip: when you scan the ticket walk forward and the barrier opens. This isn’t obvious as it doesn’t light up. It was amazing to walk up this iconic volcano, steeped in history. As you walked further up you had wonderful views of Naples and Pompeii. We were very lucky with the weather as it was a beautiful clear day. There are stations as you go further to have a rest/drink. Plenty of opportunities and time to take in where you actually are. It is truly amazing! It was enough time here to go up and back down. We wasn’t rushed at all.
Next stop lunch in Pompeii. Luca had organised a place to have lunch, we had a choice. Have a three course lunch for 20 Euro each or make our own plans. We paid for the 20 Euros which was a fair price. Pizza, Spaghetti Bolognaise, Salad and chicken were the options. Food was nice enough and prepared us for our guided tour of Pompeii.
Headsets were provided and easy to use. Our guide Michel was excellent from the beginning. Kind and funny with a great personality. He was extremely knowledgeable and was wonderful with some children who were also on the tour. He made them laugh and answered many questions. The site of Pompeii is truly remarkable. As Michel said, you would need two days really to take it all in. He took us to certain places. Particularly shops uncovered e.g. a bakers as well as wealthy houses. What really brought the experience home was the plaster casts of three bodies captured in their last moments of life as the disaster of Mount Vesuvius exploded in AD79. Michel put it in a way that really resonated with us. These people have almost become immortalised in this experience. We finished at the forum site where we had time just to take it all. Michel didn’t ever rush us and gave us time to take our photos. A brilliant guide, a brilliant experience: standing on the site of Pompeii looking up a Mount Vesuvius in the near distance where you had only walked a couple of hours earlier. If you love your history please book this day tour.
Only thing was at the end. Our hotel was called by Luca and we left the coach not actually knowing where we were. Dropping off at our hotel or the car park which was the meeting point in the morning would have been better. All in all though an excellent experience!

Our tour guide was LULU and what a character she is an absolute gem. From start to finish telling us all about everything in detail. Our local guide in Pompeii was very good and well versed in all. Great dinner in one of the restaurants at Pompeii. The walk up Vesuvius was a good one and loose under foot but the end was well worth it.

This tour was wonderful and very well organized. Our tour guide was great and our guide in Pompeii was exceptional! Climbing to Mt. Vesuvius was amazing!

We took our own bottles with us, and refilled while there. It will be very hot if it is a clear, sunny day. Bring hats and sunscreen!

Hi. Our group will be in Sorrento and will continue to Rome after the tour. This means we will have a piece of luggage each. Is there room for this on the tour bus? Can it stay on the bus for the day or will we need to leave it at luggage storage in Pompeii?

We were told the bus would be secure if we wanted to leave personal items. I suggest you connect directly with your guide about this. Maybe tip the driver a little heavy if you decide to leave them on board.

Hi, can you please confirm how long the walk is from where the bus stops and you walk the rest of the way to the crater? When reading the reviews I have seen anything from 275 meters to 900meters. So what is most accurate please and how long do they allow you to walk to the crater and back? Thanks

I believe pickup was about 0830-0900 at Palazzo Torquato Tasso. The hiking top to the summit was about a mile+ (2 miles+ round trip)...however the accent was quite steep. I believe our guide mentioned about 300 meters vertical over that distance. Unless you are an avid hiker you will find yourself stopping quite often to catch your breath.
One note of caution.... Especially on the way back. Do don't try to take advantage of the easy slope down. you are walking on loose rocks and we saw people's feet slip out from under them...some caught their fall, others didn't.
Although this hike is listed as easy... in my opinion it is a medium challenge if you are in reasonable shape, and moderately difficult if you are old and out of shape. As I mentioned, the more dangerous part is the possibility of taking a nasty fall.
Heading to Sicily in September and four more days on the back end of the trip in Sorrento before heading home... Will most likely not do the hike again but opt to go see grape harvesting east of Vesuvius.

Technically, probably yeah. I am a relatively fit, able bodied, 28 year old and I still slipped on the climb down vesuvius. I probably wouldn't want to bring a baby with me on the hike portion itself.

The green pass is the COVID vaccine tracking system. We did not have it. We had photos of our vaccine cards on our phones if asked. However, we were not asked once by any tour. This is after they ALL said it was required.

Note on site says "From the 6th August to enter the ruins of Pompeii, as per law, it's required the Green Pass, so make sure to have all the documentation otherwise the access will be forbidden." BUT.... I read online recently that "Travel from anywhere to Italy is quarantine AND restriction free as of June 1st! The Italian government has confirmed that as of the start of June 2022, there are NO requirements to prove your Covid status for anyone."
So: is a Green Pass currently required for this tour or not? Please tell us current status on this because this is very important to know. Thank you
