Luisa was a fabulous tour guide. Very informative and very knowledgeable of Pompeii. We could've stayed for hours. It was definitely worth the money for the guide and the direction. Meeting the tour guide in Sorrento was very helpful and they guided us off the local train. I will be recommending it to many people!! Thank you so much!

This Pompeii tour was organized and informative. Our guide did a good job of leading our group and providing interesting facts about the city. The tour goes quickly and you see only a portion of the excavation, but you can see more after the official tour is over on your own.

Fabulous well organised tour , we met at the very centrally located train station in sorrento where gino was already waiting with our train tickets and tickets to purchase for entry into Pompeii , his tour was very interesting and funny and gave us all the important information we wanted to know regarding Pompeii, the site is very big and feel we would have wondered around aimlessly on our own .
Would definitely recommend this tour and highly recommend Gino tour our very knowledgeable tour guide .

Pompeii is spectacular but particularly great was our guide Gino. He was funny and made what could have been a dry subject a lot of fun.

This experience was FAB! Seeing Pompeii was incredible and our tour guide Gino was so knowledgeable (and funny!). It was also great to have someone to help us with the trains from Sorrento. Thank you Gino, I will definitely be recommending this to friends.

We enjoyed this tour very much. The whole process from booking to finding our guide at the train, etc., was simple. Our guide Gino was amazing! He was clearly an expert and knew all the answers to our questions. Not only was he very qualified but funny as well! I know we wouldn’t have had the slightest clue what we were looking at had we tried to tackle Pompeii alone. The price of this tour is a steal and clearly I can’t recommend it enough.

Booked this tour for a few reasons. Circumvesuviana train orientation and a guided tour through Pompeii. The train was easier than I thought in April but it might get a bit more tricky in the peak season. Gino, our tour guide from the station in Sorrento through Pompeii was very knowledgeable and protective of his group. His sense of humour kept things light when the crowds challenged us in Pompeii during our visit on Italian Independence day. He kept us on track and gave us the information needed to appreciate the history of Pompeii.

We really recommend this tour! The guide Gino was incredibly knowledgeable, and he made connections between roman and modern life which was very poignant. It was all very organised from starting at the train station. This tour enables you to stay and explore afterwards or what we did was also visit Herculaneum.

The information says included is the train ticket back and guide and ticket for Pompeii but it says nothing about tickets to Pompeii, do we buy those once we meet our guide as a group?

Sorry the train station is called and is in 'Ercolano'. ruins a short walk away.
Try not to visit mid summer - far to hot even for Italians.
Take lots of water.
Guided tours are OK but try reading a good guide before you go and then you can work yourself around both sites and see all that you want at your own pace. Herculaneum have a small print free guide/map that is excellent.

Hi, the train ticket is valid for the day, you don't have to travel back with the guide, just check the time of the last train.

You are sold the tour in two bits - at Sorrento you pay for the return train ticket (slow all stops) and when you reach Pompeii you pay the guide for the entry into the site. Tour is two hours BUT you can go back after to visit the bits missed out or see parts of the site again. I am not a great fan of the organised trip - you can do this yourself with a decent guidebook and a bit of pre
