Our driver and tour guide John exceeded our expectations. He drove us from Naples to the Amalfi Coast, including Ravella and Positano. He stopped at many beautiful locations for pictures, recommended great coffee shops and afforded us enough time to walk through the town of Positano and have a wonderful seaside lunch. Afterwards he drove us to Pompeii and even set us up with a tour guide. We could not have had a better time and highly recommend John and the Amalfi Tour.

Perfect Day in the Amalfi Coast

This tour was the perfect tour of Positano, Pompeii, and the Amalfi Coast. We had one of the best days and our tour guide was amazing. He let us walk around and explore and gave us great recommendations. He even took us to a fresh juice guy who squeezed fresh fruit for us with a gorgeous view.

Beautiful land to drive around and visit comfortably in a van driven by a friendly and informative driver (Giovanni k/a John) during a time of the year (early February) when the weather was favorable, with minimal traffic, and few people around. Certainly recommended.

If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would. John was our driver and he was was so nice, had great conversation and stopped so many times so we could get out and take pictures of all the amazing views of the Amalfi coast. He also had great recommendations for lunch, we ate the tres Sorelle which was amazing. He then drove us to Pompeii where we met Grace who was our guide. She was great sooo knowledgeable and upbeat, it’s was my favorite tour our whole vacation. We completely missed our train and delayed the whole tour and they were so understanding and accommodating.

Amazing Experience with Amalfi Coast Day Tours- Perfect execution of custom itinerary

We recently visited the Amalfi coast, and arranged with Amalfi coast Day tours two custom trips for our visit. The first was a pickup from the Naples train station to Positano area with an excursion to Pompeii en route including a guide. The second trip was our transfer from Positano area back Naples with an excursion along the Amalfi coast, stopping in Amalfi and Ravello.
My first experience with this company was excellent. Rosy was immediately responsive to email when I was initially planning. She would answer questions, and there was no pressure. We arranged our tour plans approximately 3 months prior to our trip. Before departing the US, we confirmed all plans with Rosy. The day before our first transfer, Rosy sent another confirmation.
The driver for both of our transfers and excursions was Francesco. He was fantastic. He met us exactly at the arranged times. He was so friendly and enthusiastic. He loved where he was from, and was so excited explaining the sites along the way.
Our first excursion took us to Pompeii, where we met Grace, our guide for the archeological site. Grace was outstanding. She grew up in the area and had a deep understanding and respect for the site. She also wanted to impart her knowledge about the ancient city to us. Without her, the our experience at Pompeii would have been severely lacking.
Our return excursion was similarly flawless. Francesco picked us up on time from our hotel. He took us along the coast, narrating sites and all the cities we passed and history of the area. We made stops in Amalfi (about 75 minutes) and in Ravello (about 90 minutes). We skipped positano because we already explored the town on our own earlier in the week. He made stops along the way for photos, and shared his experience growing up in the area.
Amalfi coast day tours were a highlight of our trip. I was impressed with how efficient they were and well they executed their plans. I have to give my thanks again to Rosy for arranging our itinerary, Francesco for his driving and conversation, and Grace for sharing her knowledge on Pompeii with us. I highly highly recommend this team.

Overwhelming day!
Our family of 8 adults had so much fun riding with Francisco from Napoli Centrale through Amalfi and Positano and on to Pompeii. The drive allowed for photo-ops and very appropriate times for wandering the towns and getting some food and shopping in. His driving skills are highly commendable and we appreciated his personal stories of going to Priamo as a child on holidays. The coach was very comfortable for the 8 of us.

The last stop was Pompeii where we met Grace who was to be our guide. I highly recommend paying for the expertise of Grace whose presentation constantly referred you to the society who created the city and lived, worked, and died there. To the extent we could, we felt like we were a part of life in Pompeii which was almost overwhelming considering the terrible tragedy that occurred. She is a great guide and you shouldn't miss her!

Once in a lifetime

Frank and Jon were fantastic. Our family of 12 enjoyed a wonderful day with these two exceptional guides and finished with a tour from Grace at Pompeii. We have six children ranging in age from 9-16 and they all said this was their favorite excursion from our Mediterranean trip. We couldn't recommend this company enough!!

Amazing Day Trip to Amalfi Coast and Pompeii

We had the most amazing day with Francesco. We were picked up at the Naples train station and he drove us first to Amalfi and Positano and then to Pompeii. He explained the history, culture and life to us along the winding roads. He stopped to let us take beautiful, scenic photos along the way. In each town he gave us recommendations of where to eat and what to see. Since this was only a day trip this really helped us use our time in the best way. But he definitely gave us tips for when we might return another time. Rosy had also arranged a guide for us at Pompeii - you must have a guide there otherwise it's completely overwhelming. Grace was so wonderful. Probably the best guide we had in Italy. She is so passionate about Pompeii. We learned the history but also why it's such an important and special place. I would highly recommend using Amalfi Coast Day Tours for any trip. I hope we get back soon.

Must do! No regrets!

We did many excursions from our cruise ship and this was our groups favorite!!! John and Francesco were incredible!!! Highly recommend this private tour. We had a group of 12 and they were able to accommodate us all. We finished the day with a tour of Pompeii with a personal guide, Grace. Grace was very knowledgeable and the guided tour is a must do!! This day trip was well worth the money. We thought of touring the Amalfi coast from the sea but we are glad we selected this tour because the drive to Amalfi was a wonderful experience and the countryside is something to see!!! Our drivers made an additional stop at Ravello to show us less crowded, spectacular views.
