I giardini di Villa d'Este le splendide fontane. Le rovine romane di Villa Adriana le terme i suoi parchi per fare un viaggio nel tempo fino all'epoca dell'impero romano. Veramente spettacolare.............

It could be better...
Trip was good about thirty to forty minutes. Driver drove well.

Hadrian’s villa felt a bit rushed. It is huge but not all of it has been excavated. So we could have seen more.

The tour guide explained much and well. He was knowledgeable.

Villa d’este was beautiful. It is a beautiful villa. Again felt a little bit rushed.

So this tour offered a general view of the two villas. If you want more detailed tour book them separately.

One thing I did not appreciate was not under anyone’s control. I was made fun for thinking that marinara sauce was about the tomato. A snobbish fellow tourist corrected me because “as the word says it has products from the sea, Marinara seafood sauce”. It was pointed out to me that Americans don’t have culture. I did not reply.

However I asked around and I learned that marinara sauce was called so because it was given to the sailers “marinos” in Naples.

Sauce for sailers, marinara sauce. It was the flat bread with tomato sauce, I was right.

Please share this with all the tour guides. It is not pleasant to be the person without culture in the group. Especially when the uncultured person has the correct fact.

Domenica mattina con partenza alle 8 , un gruppo di 11 persone ( inglesi e spagnoli)
con la nostra guida Davide , abbiamo effettuato questa visita a Tivoli che comprendeva Villa Adriana e Villa D'Este. L'orario ci ha consentito di godere dei due siti in piena tranquillità in quanto siamo stati il primo gruppo ad accedere ed eravamo i soli.
Davide bravissimo, fatto tutto con molta calma, tempo per foto e tempo libero per girare in autonomia. Entusiasmante e consigliatissima !

visita alle ville

raggiungete il centro di tivoli. prima della zona a traffico limitato troverete sulla sinistra un parcheggio a pagamento(costa poco). parcheggiate e poi di fronte troverete l'entrata a villa gregoriana. A piedi dal centro si raggiunge villa d'este. veramente bella. se poi capitate in alcuni orari ( es 14,30) potete assistere al concertino d'organo davanti alla fontana. in un giorno si riesce tranquillamente a visitare le 2 ville poi spostandosi in auto si potrebbe raggiungere la terza, villa adriana, poco distante. saluti

If you are able, Take this trip!

This was our fifth trip to Rome, so we were looking for something new to do. After a comfortable bus ride, we were introduced to the two villas by the most knowledgeable, interesting, approachable guide we have ever encountered! Her name is Larissa. Not only did she bring history alive, but she made sure that we were comfortable, on time, and that we saw everything from the best vantage points. We booked through Viator.

To rushed

Far far to rushed got to Villa d'Este guided tour lasted about 20 minutes then had 30 minutes at your leisure you could easily have spent 2 hours there if not more it seriously is a beautiful and amazing place. Because we had to be back on the bus at a certain time we were constantly watching the time while taking photos. It was the same at Hadrians villa although it was raining we were in and out in 35 minutes. With so much to see we got 10 minutes to look around. We had quite a few elderly people in our group two gentlemen were soaked to the skin. Green line did not provide any ponchos at all even though it was raining before the bus left Rome city centre. Are group was divided into two and our guide was Antonio a lovely man we could not make out what he was saying it was so frustrating because I wanted to know everything he was talking about so I eventually give up listening. Overall two great sites should have been 2 separate tours instead of cramming 2 into 1. Waste of money

Disappointed
I did mention this to the guide. There isn’t enough time to visit both sites. The Villa d’Este should be a separate tour.

By the time we finished Hadrian’s Villa and got to Villa d’Este we got 15 minutes to explore the gardens. That wasn’t enough time to walk down the steps to the gardens before we had to meet the bus.

The locations are beautiful and we enjoyed the tour just not enough time.

Superficial and far too rushed

Ridiculously short times at both sites. Commentary by the male guide added little and I would suggest Wikipedia research before the trip is far more worthwhile.
