Assunta was a phenomenal tour guide! Very knowledgeable and thoughtful even helping out a few elderly members of our small group find alternative paths that were less strenuous. She was able to prioritize higher yield/historical sites of interest keeping the interest of our entire group including our 9 and 13 yo children. Outstanding memorable tour and avoided crowds with early entry.

The guide sissy was amazing and so informative. She answered all our questions and was a joy. I would highly recommend her and this tour. The small group and early access was a must to beat the crowds and louder tours.

We had Franco as our guide and he was great! We learned more than we could retain, but found it all fascinating. He encouraged questions and helped us connect some of the history between the Vatican and other areas and structures in Rome. His knowledge of the art was very impressive.

Definitely worth it just to skip the lines. We had a wonderful guide Barbara who made the tour interesting and interactive. It was a small group of 6 which made it easy to follow our guide. It was easy to find the start point at the Cafe Vaticano right across the entrance to the Vatican.
Barbara weaved a nice narrative connecting various parts of the tour and she was very enthusiastic and energetic even though I know she has given the tour many times. She projects a lot of joy and pride in her work.

Deborah was our tour guide and was excellent! We had reserved a small group tour of 6 or less. We ended up being the only 2 people scheduled, so essentially got a private tour! I highly recommend our guide. She was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information and was able to answer all our questions. It was obvious that she enjoys her work. We had a great time. Highly recommend!!

Massimo was our guide and he was absolutely fantastic! FIVE STARS! The detail provided was both informative and entertaining. He definitely has the personality for engaging his clients while immersing them in the experience. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would definitely book with Massimo in the future. Again, FIVE STARS!

A brilliant small group tour and a credit to Livitaly. From the moment Azzurra welcomed us right until the end of the tour it was a delight. Azzurra was very knowledgeable but also came across as loving her work. She engaged with us in a warm manner involving the whole group. Absolutely first class, worth every penny and I would recommend very highly.

The tour ends in the Basilica. The guides are pretty strict about moving groups through the Vatican, since there are so many tourists.

I don’t know if that’s available with the same guide. However, I can say that when we did a small group combination tour of the skeleton church, the Roman aqueducts and the catacombs we did have the same guide for all 3 areas.

Is the Private tour in English? I have booked in for the Small Group Tour in English, however I would change the booking to the Private Tour if it is also in English. Thank you N

I'm honestly not sure, but the small group was nice. There were 7 of us in our group & we had no problem staying together or hearing our guide Dario. It may not be worth the extra money for a private tour - you get herded to the same places as everyone else.

St. Peter's is open but the line to get in can be very long. I would recommend getting there early or, toward the end of the day to minimize wait time.

There are Mass services going on at different times of the day at the chapels. I think if you make enquiries at the basilica, you would get a more accurate information. This tour I did was purely one to appreciate the arts and the artists; totally non religious.
That said, a good tour to consider.
