Thank you for your time to write this review. The opening and closing times of the Colosseum are beyond our control as a tour operator.
On the day of your reservation, the Colosseum was closed and we canceled and refunded your reservation and informed you months in advance of the date of your visit. We also suggested the possible alternative.
We regret that you were not aware of this cancellation and refund and have not made any alternative plans.
I hope you don't get discouraged, thank you.

We (two couples) booked this tour several months in advance via Viator. We were very excited about experiencing the colosseum at night. approximately 2 weeks before our tour date we were notified that the tour was cancelled bc the Colosseum archaeological group was not permitting access to the colosseum at night. VERY disappointing but understand that the situation was out of the tour company’s control. Frustrating though that neither Viator nor the company had a relationship with the Colosseum that would have given them this data well in advance. Definitely appreciate the full refund however strongly believe the tour company and Viator should not be advertising tours and services that they then cannot deliver.

They cancelled our booking one week beforehand due to “circumstances beyond their control”. We were only visiting Rome for this tour and cannot change our flights, accommodation and plans with one week’s notice. These tickets should not be sold in advance if the operator does not actually have them.

Cool to see the Colosseum after hours, without many people around. The tour is engaging, but an hour doesn't feel like long enough to go into much detail.

I’m not sure I would have paid $10 for this tour, much less the 10x amount that we did. I may ask for our money back. The tour was rushed, hard to hear because multiple earphone units didn’t work and we were told too bad, move along, so we were trying to share and keep up with the high speed pace. There was a video segment that was impossible to see because the tour was too crowded so only 10 or so people fit in the viewing area. We couldn’t hear, couldn’t see, and suddenly were ushered to the exit so the tour guide could move on to her next group. Biggest scam we’ve encountered in Rome. Very unfortunate. Do not use this operator.

Colosseum is beautiful at night because the lighting is dramatic, underground tour fascinating, virtual reality head set was fun, tour guide was great, and no crowds!

This was a very organised tour , Claudia was a brilliantly guide that was very informative and knowledgeable, we didn’t feel rushed and doing the coliseum at night was amazing.

The tour was excellent, and the tour guide was amazing. I really recommend the night tour it has something about it with the history of this beautiful but tragic place everywhere.

We paid 60 euro for a tour that was worth 25 euro if you paid on the gate. The guide from Discover Rome Tours left 14 of us (separate bookings) at the security gate (& ran off), this meant we were never met by an official guide and we had to essentially ask security to find us a tour guide. This resulted in all 14 of us missing the start of the tour and being bolted onto another tour which was already half way through. The cost is advertised as costing more because of the VR video at the start, my partner and I were given different videos (mine was on the whole of Rome and I wasn't even allowed to finish it) and to be honest it didn't feel that safe standing with a VR headset on in the middle of a tourist hotspot (pickpocketers dream). The whole thing felt like a scam and it put a real downer on some fantastic history.

Sorry for late reply but yes includes underground tour, you get to see the elevators that would bring up gladiators/animals/props. Very Cool!
