Outstanding, professional tour with Katie Farrah; five hours of information sprinkled with a personal touch and some humor. Katie knows the inside, in-depth Vatican and three of us had a wonderful time.

We’re putting our feet up after a wonderful afternoon visiting the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and Raphael Rooms…our tour guide (storyteller) Alessandro inspired us with his knowledge and warmth….he navigated us though the awe inspiring collections, always offering to stop for a photo while continuing to captivate us with his fantastic narrative…it was a magical afternoon..one we will not soon forget. His breadth of knowledge of Roman Antiquities, Baroque art and sculpture, the Renaissance, papal everything and architecture was truly inspiring!

Second tour with this company. This tour was with the gift or Marta as a guide. She's brilliant, and a great story teller. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect first morning in Rome activity. Being almost alone in the Vatican to start was an experience not to be missed, and if Marta is available...book with her!

I have used Eyes of Rome before, so it was easy decision to return. Our pick up was prompt 07:45 from the hotel, and we were inside the Vatican museums just after 8am. Our guide, Marta, was truly excellent. Not only is she a wealth of knowledge and information, but in the end she kindly provided us with further recommendations what else to see in Rome and where to eat.
I have done this same tour some years ago, and some things have unfortunately changed. Before you were able to go straight into the Sistine Chapel and then return to the museums. Back then this meant us and 40-50 other people at the Chapel. Now it was 3-4x that by the time we got there. Also, before it was only small groups during the early entry. Now you are battling with groups of 20 and up.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Marta. She was incredible: knowledgeable, patient and fun! We highly recommend this tour. We avoided all lines and even were able to take some “special” stairwells to avoid crowds during the tour.

The Singer Palace Hotel arranged our private tour of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Our tour guide Marina was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and was able to get us access into private spaces not typically accessible to the public. I highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I returned to the Vatican for a second private Vatican tour after doing one a few years ago. We wanted to go more slowly than the previous time, see more things along the way from the overall collection, and NOT focus on the Sistine Chapel. Our guide, Azzurra della Seta, listened to our request and did a superb job of fleshing out the totality of what is there. which is extensive and amazing. We would recommend her without reservations.

We booked a last minute private tour of the Vatican City with Eyes of Rome via our hotel, Palazzo Manfredi. The itinerary included a private transfer from the hotel to the site, St.Peter's Basilica, St.Peter's Dome, Vatican Museums, Galleries, Raphael Rooms, Special Access to Niccolina Chapel and Bramante Staircases, and the Sistine Chapel. It was based on one of their standard private tours, with personalized sites added to it. It lasted about 6 hours in total and started at 7:30 am per our request. Our tour guide was Azzurra.
While the sites we visited during this tour were fantastic, the factor that made this private tour beyond outstanding was Azzurra herself. She made the entire experience very fun and educational. She left us with a wealth of knowledge about what we were seeing, and her storytelling made it very enjoyable. The best experience she afforded me was the ability to connect with my archive of college-level art humanities education from over 3 decades ago to understand and see what was before me. She knew when to add more information and when to provide less. The tour felt less like a tour than meeting up with a long-time friend who excited to show you her beloved hometown.
As someone who has a fear of height, I was a bit worried about going up to the St. Peter’s Dome. It turned out that it was not bad as I anticipated. While I was still a little bit nervous, the iron screen protection barriers helped me manage my acrophobia on both levels of the dome so that I can accomplish my objective of taking photos of the landscape of the Vatican City atop St. Peter’s Basilica.
Furthermore, I have to thank Sara and her colleagues at Eyes of Rome for their help and patience with me throughout the booking process.
I highly recommend this tour company and Azzurra. I will definitely use the company again for my future visits and request for Azzurra.

One of my favorite tours in Europe. Denis was an amazing guide and story teller who was patient with all questions asked. Touring the Vatican was the highlight of my trip and Denis was a big reason why. Very professional and personable guide!
