Excellent tour of Rome and The Vatican

We had an excellent tour of Rome and The Vatican. Our driver Daniel was an expert. He took us to the best places and we had plenty of time to get back to the cruise. My family and I had a great time.
Definitely recommend Joe Banana tours and our friend Daniel to be your driver.

Daniel was a great tour guide. He really went out of his way to allow us to see as many sights as possible. He was knowledgeable and funny. We really enjoyed our experience.

Amazing time in Italy!

What can I say? Definitely the major highlight of our European vacation. Our family still talks about our 2 days with Carlo and Bruno.

Our first trip was with Carlo in Rome, and I don't think there is a better driver out there. He was so knowledgeable, had plenty of surprises, great restaurant recommendations, and the most professional and well dressed man in Italy! I cannot see us returning to Italy, and not experiencing another day with Carlo as our driver.

Similarly, Bruno was amazing for our Positano, Sorrento, and Pompeii trip. He had plenty of stories, sang with our girls, and took us on the most spectacular drive I have ever been on. He also recommended an amazing pizzas restaurant, and had us back tour ship with plenty of time. He even predicted the afternoon breeze that came through Pompeii!!

Thank you Joe Banana for making our trip so memorable. We will definitely use your services again!

A fantastic day in Rome!

We only had 1 day in Rome and were looking at the best way to see all the most popular sites without having to walk all over Rome or take taxis or buses. We searched online for a tour company and found Banana Joe. The sites that they listed were exactly what we wanted to see. I used the email contact listed and was in touch with Ana L. She was fantastic from the first email to the last. She was very prompt considering the 8-hour time difference. She answered all my questions and was very detailed in her responses. When we got to Rome - our driver was waiting for us at the Termani train station with our name. He welcomed us to Rome and escorted us to his very comfortable Mercedes van. The nice thing about this tour is we were the only ones. We didn't have to share our time with other tourists. We had a private driver for the entire day. Our driver Alex was born and raised in Rome and knew the roads and sites extensively. He took us where we wanted to go and also recommended sites that we weren't familiar with but so glad we went. He would drop us off where he could safely and then we would communicate thru Whatsapp where he was located when we were done visiting the site. He never rushed us and we could take however long we wanted at any site. He dropped us off in an area that had several restaurants for lunch. We took our time and had a nice leisurely lunch. When we were done seeing all the sites we wanted to see, Alex dropped us back off at the train station. It was the end of a perfect day. One thing to keep in mind is that tickets to things like the Colosseum or Vatican are not included. So as far as I know - you only see the outside of these sites. That is what our family did. I highly recommend Banana Joe if you are looking to tour the major sites in Rome and want someone to take you everywhere. They are fantastic to work with and they take good care of you.

THE BEST TOUR COMPANY

From the first contact with Joe Banana Limos - the service and communication was perfection. Ana was the most kind and knowledgeable person and kept up with us from the time of our reservation till we headed home. The drivers and guides were OUTSTANDING. We were picked up promptly from our cruise ship. We met our guide at the Vatican and had a wonderful tour. The next day was our tour of Rome - which wasn't easy, as many streets were closed due to The Race for the Cure. But our driver zigged and zagged and got us close to everything. Ana also handled a last minute request for airport service without blinking an eye.
This is a FABULOUS COMPANY and I will keep recommending to anyone who is going to Italy. I promise - you can't miss with Joe Banana Limos.

Civitavecchia to Rome

Alex collected us promptly from the cruise ship terminal in his beautiful Range Rover and took us on an amazing tour of Rome. His historical knowledge is incredible, and he has many fascinating stories to tell. Although it was a rainy day, we saw all of the main sights with ease and lots of little local places we would never have found ourselves. We stopped for lunch at a wonderful local pizzeria and had plenty of opportunity to get out of the car (umbrella provided) and see the spectacular sights Rome has to offer. After a fantastic day, Alex dropped us off at the airport in good time for our flight home. I cannot recommend this company highly enough, they are friendly, efficient and well organised. We cannot wait to return and spend more time in this fabulous city!

Excellent Transportation and Excellent Knowledgeable Service!

We pre-arranged two days of touring through Joe Banana Limos for Rome. Their agency worked with us in advance and secured advance tickets and guides. Their service is impeccable and seamless. The driver was fully in touch with guides and vice versa.
Day 1, We arrived on a Sunday and were picked up by Enzo. He wanted to be sure we saw all we wanted. Our guide at the Colosseum and Roman Forum, Analetia, was a powerhouse of history and information and was amazing! After the Colosseum and Forum, Enzo took us to Trevi Fountain and to Piazza Navona to see the fountains. We Loved it!
Day 2, Our driver, Stefano was quite helpful and knowledgeable, making sure to get in all we could before our appointed time reservation at the Vatican. We enjoyed our stop at the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. And he also in found us some quick sandwiches from a vendor.
Ciara, the guide at the Vatican, was awesome! She talked about her many years employed at the museum and she imparted her knowledge and wisdom very effectively. She was amazed at the reduction in the number of guests at the time we were there. In our 2.5 to 3 hours we saw so much including the good luck that the Basilica was open for our viewing! After our amazing time at the Vatican, we asked Stefano to take us back to the Pantheon for more time and touring inside.
Excellent tours by knowledgeable drivers and superb guides. Can't recommend Joe Banana Limos more highly for your service in Italy!

This was an excellent tour with our tour guide Maximillian provided by Joe Banana. Max was a wealth of knowledge and certainly loved sharing his knowledge with gusto! I was totally amazed as I was the first time I visited the Vatican......wonderful!! St Peters"s so very beautiful and spiritual....Loving God and Jesus!

Lost in Rome

We had the misfortune of being unable to find our driver and vice versa after we toured the Vatican. It was a stressful experience and don’t feel our driver took adequate steps to reunite us with him and the limo. If a helpful store clerk had not stepped in and helped us out by walking us across St. Peter’s Square and not giving up until she found our driver, I’m not sure we would have made it back to our cruise ship in time. We did not have phone service but three calls were made to the driver by store clerks trying to let Luigi know where we were.

The company responded by showing us where the driver was on GPS. Not sure how that was supposed to make us feel better? Would have been nice to have been able to track him that unfortunate day!!!

Dear Beth H, We actually did more than just show you where the driver was via GPS. We did apologize for the miscommunication with your driver, however, we also explained in depth that multiple attempts were made to contact you as well as find your group at the meeting location outside of the Vatican. Both our driver and our office staff attempted to contact you with no success which we understand now was due to your lack of phone/text services here. We even contacted you by phone in the vehicle on the way back to the port to ask how the day had gone and you indicated everything was great. That would have been the perfect opportunity to discuss the issue with us so we could have addressed it immediately. Even a less enthusiastic response would have been a tip that something was not right. Or at the very least, sent us an email if you were not comfortable speaking over the phone about it. The GPS information was given to show you that the driver was actually where he was supposed to be at the meeting time and location as indicated. It was not an attempt to make you feel better, it was factual information provided to support that our driver was where he was supposed to be. We know that cannot change the fact that you/your group had difficulty finding him or your feelings regarding the day. Again, we did apologize for the experience and had we known about your distress at the time, or shortly thereafter, we would have been able to address it at that time. It seems a bit unfair that you waited over two weeks to advise us, only after we reached out to you, and then you post only a small portion of our response online? We do not think that a 2 star rating is a fair reflection of the experience as we delivered on every other component of the day. Late pick up, no show at the port, lack of skip the line tickets, etc, would understandably translate to a poor rating, but not a miscommunication that was resolved and did not affect your safe arrival back to the port in plenty of time within your ship’s in port hours or the rest of the day’s services that were provided.
