Dear Beth H, We actually did more than just show you where the driver was via GPS. We did apologize for the miscommunication with your driver, however, we also explained in depth that multiple attempts were made to contact you as well as find your group at the meeting location outside of the Vatican. Both our driver and our office staff attempted to contact you with no success which we understand now was due to your lack of phone/text services here. We even contacted you by phone in the vehicle on the way back to the port to ask how the day had gone and you indicated everything was great. That would have been the perfect opportunity to discuss the issue with us so we could have addressed it immediately. Even a less enthusiastic response would have been a tip that something was not right. Or at the very least, sent us an email if you were not comfortable speaking over the phone about it. The GPS information was given to show you that the driver was actually where he was supposed to be at the meeting time and location as indicated. It was not an attempt to make you feel better, it was factual information provided to support that our driver was where he was supposed to be. We know that cannot change the fact that you/your group had difficulty finding him or your feelings regarding the day. Again, we did apologize for the experience and had we known about your distress at the time, or shortly thereafter, we would have been able to address it at that time. It seems a bit unfair that you waited over two weeks to advise us, only after we reached out to you, and then you post only a small portion of our response online? We do not think that a 2 star rating is a fair reflection of the experience as we delivered on every other component of the day. Late pick up, no show at the port, lack of skip the line tickets, etc, would understandably translate to a poor rating, but not a miscommunication that was resolved and did not affect your safe arrival back to the port in plenty of time within your ship’s in port hours or the rest of the day’s services that were provided.
