My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful and informative tour of the Byzantine and Gothic mosaics of Ravenna with Elisa. She was well prepared and very informative. She also made the tour very enjoyable. We focused primarily on the Byzantine churches and baptistries but also learned about the sites associated with Dante.
It is impossible to convey how spectacular these mosaics are. I had seen the photos and read the history but the reality is overwhelming. I highly recommend making time to visit Ravenna if you are in the area. And, if you do, please take the tour with Elisa, I will be returning in December with my daughter who is a doctoral candidate in art history.

Elisa provided excellent explanations and insightful interpretations of Ravenna's mosaic treasures. Our group of three agreed that it was much, much better to have had her guidance than to have viewed the mosaics on our own.

We are so happy that we booked a private tour of Ravenna's mosaics with Elisa - she is very prompt, personable, easy to understand, an art history major so really knows her stuff, and sets a good pace. We communicated via email about timing, meeting at the train station and she even recommended a car service to get us to San Marino after the Ravenna tour. She understood our time constraints so made sure we saw all the important sites and still had time for a gelato stop and to introduce us to her favorite piadiniere. She was able to interpret the symbolism of the mosaic stories and really bring them to life for us. That she is a native of Ravenna really helps too. Would highly recommend a half day with Elisa!

Going on a private tour with Elisa is THE perfect way to visit the 5 top mosaic sites in Ravenna!! The mosaics are pure beauty, but their inspiration comes with hearing what are the stories behind the mosaics and what the scenes depict!! Elisa opened our eyes to magnificent Byzantine art and religion and history between the Byzantine Christianity and Arianism. Just enough art, just enough history on a wandering stroll through Ravenna. The pace was perfect - no rush! Elisa’s English is excellent and she is kind and thoughtful!! Also loved being just a small group rather than being one of the crowd! Please don’t miss a guided tour to the mosaics - an informed guide like Elisa makes it magical!!!

My wife and I had an amazing visit to Ravenna's mosaics in May. Elisa is a wonderful tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable about the sights in Ravenna, Italian culture and history. She explained in depth about Ravenna's history going back over 1500 years. We left with a good feel for that lovely town. Highly recommend her guided tours.

Elisa is good company and knowledgable so i guess that is all you can ask for.
Although walking tours done privatley are not cheap, there where 2 of us, it is definitely woth the money. Ravenna is a very special place and Elisa helped us to understand the history and show small details that i am sure we would of missed without her.
