Awesome tour of the church’s and the stories about the mosaic’s. Kiara was a fantastic guide and knew the history of the town and places we saw. Highly recommend this tour.

Mosaics with a guided interpreter really tell amazing stories. You will miss most of the reasons to be if you attempt self guided walking tour

Wonderful 2.5 hour private tour of key mosaics with guide Marina who was very knowledgeable and patiently explained things in excellent English. She also phoned to confirm the meeting point and start time about an hour in advance, a nice gesture.
The mosaics are frankly breathtaking (also at least 1500 years old) and Marina was able to tell us about the historical background to Ravenna and the part it played in the post Roman period as a dominant city in various eras. In addition to the advertised fee there was a further €11.50 per person to cover admission fees to the different sights. Ravenna is a small town, the centre is easily walkable in 10mins from the railway station and everywhere on the tour is no more than 5/10 mins from the main square.

This tour was just fantastic. Rosanna, our guide, was super knowledgeable and really loves her Ravenna! It was so nice to have someone to enliven and contextualize these unique and ancient mosaics! And do ask her about restaurants and bars in town too .. the central market is a great place for a drink or dinner after your tour. Definitely better to take an afternoon tour as the churches are much less busy then - we started at 2 pm and most of the churches were nearly empty and that in August!!

We took a private tour of the main mosaics in Ravenna with Silvia, and had an great time. Silvia is an excellent guide, full of fascinating information about the mosaics and history in that era. With details about the people the mosaics represent, and life at that time, she really brought them to life for us. They are a must-see, and we highly recommend a tour with Silvia.

Die Führung und die Erklärungen durch Dorothea Weidemann zu den einzelnen
Bauten/Kunstwerken waren einmalig, sie brachte Kunst, Kultur und Antike
zusammen und konnte auf Nachfrage selbst Details, die auch über Ravenna hinaus gingen, im Zusammenhang erklären.
Wir beide waren begeistert.

We knew very little of Ravenna so signed up for a guided tour with Chiara Rubboli. It far exceeded our expectations. Her knowledge of and passion for the history of Ravenna and its mosaics are impressive. The details she provided and the stories of the time bring the tour to life. It was unlike any other tour we have taken. We felt immersed in the history and culture of the city in the best possible way. We highly recommend this tour and Chiara!

We did a day trip from Bologna to Ravenna by train. The city is so charming and a relaxing change of pace from bigger cities in Italy. We very much enjoyed our time with Marina! She is very knowledgeable and a great storyteller. The mosaics are beautiful and worth seeing. Having a guide is worthwhile so you can appreciate the full history of Ravenna and the mosaics. After your tour, enjoy the many shops and outdoor cafes that line the cobblestone streets.

Our guide. Claudia, brought the mosaics to life. Her passion and knowledge of Ravenna and its history was tremendous. If we had not booked this tour and simply walked into the sites, we would have missed so much detail and history. We highly recommend this tour!!

Abbiamo contattato Chiara Rubbon per una visita guidata di Ravenna tramite la cooperativa il Papavero.Chiara ci ha guidato nella visita dei più importanti musei,chiese monumentali e portandoci anchenie luoghi in cui Dante Alighieri ha trascorso la sua vita Ravvennnnate .La sua profonda conoscenza della citta dell quale ha saputo sapientemente riagganciare i riferimenti storici del passato ai reperti;la sua proffessionalita e soprattutto il suo modo di “raccontare”ha piacevolmente fatto passare una giornata indimenticabile.
