Very long drive, 3 hrs there and back. Only went to two of the five towns. Swell was too rough to go out in boats. The two towns were great but would have liked to see more. Bus was very comfortable. Went to restaurant recommended by tour guide in Montessa and meal was awful. May go to more towns if leave from Genoa.

Besides Long distance from Milan ( to and from Milan takes 6 hours) ; and the trip left with little time for traveler to enjoy and explore different village. Nothing much could be appreciate from the Ferry off shore as it is very far from shore and you cant see much . The trip could be better off without a ferry trip.
Not advisable to book any trip via viator as they don’t provide assurance for any emergency or unforeseen circumstances. Viator just walk away and said they are not responsible.

Dear guest,
we are sorry you did not appreciate the tour. In the description is clearly stated that is a 13 hours tour, Milan is 220 km form Cinque Terre. I suggest you, for your next trip to Milan, our tour to Lake Como, it's just 80 km away and probably more suited for your desires.
I couldn't understand your comment about the insurance. We are a licensed tour operator and we provide all our costumer with coverage for any inconvenience during the tour.

It's a long day about 13 hours, but exceed my expectations. We actually visited two villages and eat lunch at one village. The boat tour was the best, we saw all 5 villages from the sea, Porto Venere,and La Spezia at end. I gave the tour guy a high rating. He is very nice and experienced, and willing to answer all questions.

It's a long day but beautiful and well organized. The guide was fabulous! Bus was ok, good driving skills, but seats tight and no on board loo. Bring your own water!

Not sure how to rate this experience. Went to Cinque Terre but the weather, although sunny, was windy and the sea rough, so we could not use the boat. However, while we paid for a boat ride to see some villages from the sea, there was no offer of 'compensation' for a part of the product we could not use. However, on a good day this trip would be great! It makes for a long day from Milan, but well worth the effort.

Cinque Terre is beautiful but we drove for 9+ hours to only experience the towns for two hours. Also there were way too many people on the trip - should’ve had 15 - 20 max and had over 40. Also, nothing was included with this except the bus ride to and from. Don’t recommend this, especially from Milan.

Unfortunately, this was one of my worst coach tour experiences, but this is not all the fault of the operator (booked via Viator) who I would still continue to recommend…just not this tour!
To begin the guide warned us it was going to be a long challenging day (13hrs) and he was absolutely right & clearly transparent from the start.
The pros of the tour include air condition and comfortable coach, good rest stops travelling to the coast (clean facilities), on-time connections for train and boats, and to see the beauty of the village of Cinque Terre, especially Manarola.
On the negative was a slightly challenging terrain (down steep hills and steps), a packed boat trip with about 5 different tours fighting for the best seats, a strange boat change at Porto Venere, a very short stay in Manarola (20mins) but most disappointed by a very long stay in Monterosso (2hrs 40) which is a small village surviving on tourism, but still ill equipped to cope with large tourist numbers - fully booked restaurants and very very few toilets. I know these villages were never intended for the intrusion that tourism brings, but perhaps the operators need to consider this when deciding on their itinerary.
Most of this is out of the hands of the village and the operators who do their best to get you to the locations, but the tour would benefit from rescheduling the connections and perhaps ending in Porto Venere which the coach could access for a final pick up.
Overall a very long day with few highlights other than the meagre 20mins in Manarola (where restaurants had spaces) - compare this with a 13hr journey (plus getting up at 5am to catch the coach) the tour is not worth the time and effort (or cost).

Cinque Terre can be inaccessible in winter months so I would say they probably don’t offer this tour in December. When we booked, if I remember correctly it was from April through summer.

It is possible to stay there as there are Airbnb’s and accommodations etc but only from April to October - it is difficult to access in winter and therefore closes. So you should book well in advance.
