Probably our favorite thing we did on our vacation. Our tour guide was absolutely perfect and made our entire day amazing. The views from the train are everything and more than imagined. Would do the same tour over again.

The day was cloudy but that didn’t seem to matter. The views were spectacular and our guide Silvia was perfect. The driver, Aldo, was a master at navigating the complex terrain.

Highly recommend the Bernina Train tour with Luca! Before our tour, Luca was readily available to answer all of the questions we had. A few days leading up to the tour, he made sure we had no questions and sent us all the information we needed. We left from Milano and we met Luca’s associate at the Milano train station. We were on the train for about an hour and a half before we met Luca in Lake Como. Luca showed us some beautiful spots in Varenna before we boarded a bus to Tirano. While in route, Luca shared some interesting facts about Lake Como and all of the places we planned to visit during the day. When we arrived in Tirano (a beautiful town in northern Italy) we had about an hour to have lunch and explore before boarding the Bernina Express. Once on board, Luca prepared us to have our cameras ready for all the best shots of the Swiss Alps. The train ride was about 2.5 hours of just beautiful view after beautiful view of the Swiss Alps. Once we arrived in St. Moritz, Switzerland, we had about and hour to explore the charming town. Luca gave great recommendations for things to see, eat & do in each town we visited! He even stopped at a beautiful waterfall on the way back to the train station. It is a long day, but totally worth it! Very relaxing day exploring Northern Italy and the Swiss Alps. Luca has the day mapped out to a tee, which really maximizes your time! Highly recommended this tour and any other tour with Luca!

A brief stop at Lake Como before the highlight of the day which was on the Bernina Express. Scenery was fantastic, Luca kindly told us when to get our cameras ready and was thoroughly informative. Very long day but definitely worthwhile. Highly recommended

Guide Giovanni was superb. Friendly and knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. Views on the train were simply stunning and an experience not soon forgotten.

Alice was an incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide who kept us on a tight schedule but made sure we didn’t miss any experiences! The entire tour was a highlight of our trip and well well worth the time and money. Highly recommended!!!!

My two sons and myself are wanting to do this trip next June.
We will be staying in Varenna so we were hoping the price will be less from Varenna as it looks like we can be picked up in at the Varenna ferry port to begin the tour so we will not need transport to and from Milan?
Also is it possible to get first class tickets with panoramic windows on the Bernina Express with you? If so how much more is this?
Last question - How long time wise exactly is the Bernina express train journey itself from Tirano to ?
