First visit to Venice was in 1966. Loved it. The locals were friendly and outgoing, making the visit unforgettable. Great meals at local restaurants; much to see where you could slowly and peacefully enjoy the creativity of past masters. It was a busy city but not crowded. The city is now so overcrowded by tourists that getting around is like trying to ride a trolley or subway in Tokyo where they employ pushers to get more people in the cars. Walking most of the streets is like being in a dodgem at an amusement park.

I was a little worried about using the Alilaguna service to go to the airport after reading the reviews, even though it was very convenient to our hotel. We were planning to board at Guglie for a ride to the airport, and since it's one of the last stops before the airport, I had heard they fill up and we thought might be left stranded. We decided to plan to take an earlier shuttle, so that even f we couldn't get on, we'd still have time to wait for the next one or walk to the bus station and take a bus. It's true that some of the boats are extremely small, and the one that first arrived couldn't fit us on. I expected to wait for the next one (scheduled in a half hour) but was pleasantly surprised that another larger boat arrived in about 10 minutes. We got to the airport in plenty of time.
We purchased our tickets near the Santa Lucia train station, but note that the place to purchase the Alilaguna ticket is different than where you purchase vaporetto tickets. The Alilaguna ticket desk is inside the information center and across from the other ticket windows.

To flee absolutely!! Company that doesn’t care about anyone, it leaves people on the dock on the grounds that “the boats are too full” when they know that people have planes to catch at specific times!! Do not take to the airport because boats can pass under your nose indefinitely!! We had to do otherwise at the last minute when 2 boats refused us all on the boarding platform.

Fast, stress free and convenient way to airport. They arranged for a pick up close to our hotel which is just 5 minutes walk.

Terrible customer service. Young man (dark hair and long chin) who worked there insulted the passengers at line 2B. Very rude.

They failed to turn up.. caused us enormous stress and expense when we had to flag down another taxi at a cost of 150 euro.. they sent us the pickup point at 4pm the day before and it was so far away we had to lug our suitcases over 6 bridges of steps to get there.. and then they didn’t turn up.. since then they have not responding to frantic messages (no telephone number provided), nor to requests of a refund.. had to get Viator to chase the refund for us.. no word as yet.. DO NOT use this service..

So glad we finally found this. I searched online for 2 hrs after multiple people including our hotel by the Rialto stop told us to take a 150 euro water taxi to the airport. Decided to do this instead of doing train and bus (more room for error). Just get your ticket and takes about 40 minutes to get to the airport. Comes every 30 minutes, no bathrooms, get towards front of boat dock once checked in to get a seat. I wouldn’t buy a ticket in advance in case you miss your boat. Virtually no line at 8 am when we got our ticket at the counter. Orange line, very easy.

This is my second time writing a review for this trip. My first one was apparently removed. I booked this option for our return trip from Venice to the airport. I never received a confirmation that I had this booking, and when I proceeded to attempt to cancel the booking the day before our departure, I was unable to get in contact with anyone from the Airport link transfer outside of office hours.
We were able to make alternate arrangements for a ride to the airport using a public transport option, which worked out great. When I requested a refund in advance of the pick up time that we had requested, I was denied the refund. I advise travelers to seek alternate means of transport to/from the airport.

Unfortunately, with us the pickup did not work at all.. Hotel was indicated as pick-up location.. unfortunately no one came ...must rebook

"A minimum of 2 people per booking is required."
I was able to book directly with Alilaguna for 15€. They picked people up from several locations in Venice. Much easier and less expensive than this offer.

There is a place where all the boat shuttles stop to drop off and pick up. The staff at the cruise port will help you find where to wait. We used bucintoroviaggi to pick us up at the cruise pot and to pick us up near San Marco and drop us at Marco Polo airport:
