I took Dawn photography tour. The guide was Nicoletta. She has tremendous knowledge using my camera. A lot of information was transferred about Venice. 3 hours non stop photography of beautiful corners of Venice. I came back with many good photos. I highly recommend this tour.

Had an excellent private extended photo workshop in Venice last week with Nicoletta. Not only is she a great photographer, but she was an exceptional guide on the history of Venice, suggested great image compositions and knew some of the best vantage points around Venice to really capture some incredible photographs. I've had the opportunity to shoot with Aperture Tours in more than a few destinations (Paris, Normandy, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Rome to name a few) and they have a top notch team that really help curate an exceptional experience.

Whether you’re a professional photog, enthusiast or just starting out, this tour will fit you perfectly. I had an exceptional guide, Claudia, who took me around beautiful Venice at night for some cityscapes. Very helpful and knowledgeable and helped me capture some awesome shots! I loved the tour so much I booked another one in Paris. Well worth it!

I had a good time with Claudia. She taught me a lot about different techniques for night photography, which is quite different than daytime photography. Totally recommend this.

My friend and I had the distinct pleasure of taking a Photography Tour of Venice with #ApertureTours with Nicoletta as our guide.
Nicoletta was an absolute joy to work with; knowledgeable, friendly, funny… All rolled into one package. She arrived a few minutes early at our pre-arranged meeting point, where my friend and I were enjoying a quick breakfast of a croissant and espresso. We sat for a few minutes, getting to know each other a bit, and chatting about our photographic experience, what we were hoping to see/learn during our time together, and a bit of background information about each of us. We then set out to explore a bit of Venice and shoot some photographs. Nicoletta was very helpful in offering suggestions on how to make the most of lighting conditions, how to have better composition in our photos; all the while reminding us that photography is very much a personal preference form of art, and that her suggestions were simply that… suggestions. She made it very clear that young photographers often imitate other, more seasoned, photographers for style, composition, exposure preferences, etc., but that most photographers begin, with time, to develop their own style or personality in their photographs; in many cases without conscientiously thinking about what that style or personality actually is. I would highly recommend Nicoletta if you find yourself in Venice and are looking to improve your photographic skills and knowledge.
A bit of background about myself… I have been “dabbling” in digital photography for about 3 years now; this is the 4th tour I have booked with Aperture tours. Every one of the tours I have completed with Aperture have been very educational for me; I feel my photographic skills have been greatly enhanced by these tours. All of the guides I have worked with have been great and I have really enjoyed each tour. One tour I had booked had to be cancelled as the tour guide/photographer had a family emergency; Alexander could not have been more apologetic for the issue, and immediately refunded my booking fee without question. I would not hesitate (and have not hesitated) to book again with #ApertureTours.

Ich hatte das große Glück mit der wunderbaren Nicoletta das Venedig abseits der bekannten Ecken kennenlernen zu dürfen. Ich liebe diese Stadt mit ihren wunderschönen Farben, den abgeblätterten Mauern und den etlichen Details. Vieles hätte ich ohne Nicoletta nie entdeckt!

The tour with Alvise took us to some Venice highlights for those classic photographs, as well as some hidden gems that we would never have found without his local knowledge. He helped me with some technical bad habits that have crept into my photography, and my non-photographer husband enjoyed the tour just as much as I did. Perfect way to spend a few hours in Venice!

I thoroughly enjoyed my evening out and about in Venice. It has a different atmosphere at night. Reflections, lights shadows, busy areas and deserted areas.
Pablo guided me around patiently which suited me, I didn't want to rush. He was knowledgeable and gave me tips on eg. composition and some technical issues. He was great company.
The communication from the company, prior to this, was ordinary to say the least. I received an email confirming my tour with questions about my particular areas of interest and equipment, asking for a reply which I was eager to respond to as I was having issues with my equipment. So I responded, but the next email I received, made no reference to my questions. I was told twice that no mobile number had been registered but it had been supplied 3 times.
However, the company was helpful in that I was able to change the date to the following day when I requested it so overall I cannot complain too much. If the communication had been better I would have rated it higher. Hopefully this will improve and in that basis I would highly recommend it.

Anna was a great guide. Learnt a lot about being more creative with my photography, the best angles to use for photography and learnt more about the features of my camera. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to take great night time pictures in Venice.

My partner and I had a great evening with Anna. I learnt so much, having previously been on a course Anna now gave me the opportunity, confidence and guidance to put into practice what I had learned. Although my partner wasn’t taking photos with us Anna was also a great source of local information to add to the evening. As well as encouraging me to think outside the box when looking at a composition of a photo Anna also gave me some new great tips on how to get the best from my pictures.
We can’t thank Anna enough for a great evening
I will definitely be following the website and blogs from here onwards and also hope to be taking part in some future tours.

Can you this your with any kind of camera? I don’t really want to travel with my big Canon SLR. Hoping to just use my iiPhone and a smaller super zoom.

The tour is geared to you and what you want to do, at least it was with my guide Pablo. It's night photography so better with a tripod. I'm not familiar with iPhones but a small camera that can be attached to a tripod would be fine.
What is the maximum number of people in twilight tour?

The normal max is two people, but the company is flexible. I am sure they would adjust if you ask them, for a higher max. In our case, there was only a single person with a camera, although we paid for two. The photographer is one on one for the entire three hours with the client, so you can see how it does not lend itself to a group experience.
