Very disappointing. The gondoliers seemed disinterested in taking us out and argued over who would do it. They were unfriendly, and our boatman did not say more than 6 words to us, these at the end asking if we enjoyed ourselves. Frankly, no. We spent half of the 20 min ride (paid for 30 but whatever) sitting still in the grand canal while other boats zipped by. Then we went down one of the least attractive side canals, clogged with other gondolas, came right back out and were deposited at the dock. I am certain other companies will give you your money's worth. I have seen them.

We wanted a brief Gondola ride to check off this activity from our Venice bucket list. The tour company cranks through hundreds of rides per day. The driver or guy who maneuvered the gondola didn’t speak much english. We knew this ride wasn’t going to educate us on anything but maybe we should have paid a little more to get more out of it. We played our own music to break up the silence but there are a ton of other boats in the water it’s like a taxi jam.

If you have been to Venice then you must have taken a gondola. Nice for two, nice and romantic. If you don't go gondola, you will regret it.

25 min out of 45 and not in the canal.
We rode exactly 25 min, the gondolier barely got into a first street off of the grand canal and rode the shortest square block and parked back to the bay.
The gondolier was an old man without knowledge of English so we didn't communicate and he didn't say a word
Lots of gondola rides around without booking for a cheaper price and no line.

Everyone who visits Venice for the first time wants to go on a gondola ride. We wanted to do that too. Having become cautious after a very negative TV report, we asked about prices at various stops and also asked people who had taken gondola rides. Prices - either posted or quoted by the gondoliers - varied so much that we were completely confused: from €35 for 30 minutes, but it meant that you were sitting with 6 strangers. Here from 6pm + €20, there from 8pm. 60-minute rides were quoted as at least €80, usually €100/€120, also with an evening surcharge. Always per person! According to passengers, you had to pay extra "with the Grand Canal", which meant that you turn from a side canal there, turn around and go back. Others reported that they rode for 30 minutes past dirty walls, saw nothing worth seeing and many said that the rides were much shorter than they paid for. Our questions also confirmed many complaints about grumpy, rude and "silent" gondoliers. (According to a local, they earn around 15,000 per month.) After careful consideration, we decided to take a night trip on a vaporetto - sitting outside at the front and having a great view. So think carefully!

After having such a fun ride sound the island on the water taxi/shuttle, we decided to just do a 30-minute gondola ride instead of an hour.
We paid for 30 minutes. They took us back after 20 minutes. When we pressed them on it they just spoke in Italian and then just waved us to get off the gondola. A very short lap around and part of that time was waiting in a congested canal for other gondolas to pass through.
The gondolier barely said anything and at one point was talking on his cellphone.
Total bust and waste of money.
Better Option: Hop on the water shuttle that have seats outside and go island hopping. Enjoy the nice breeze. Much more fun. You just have to wait a bit for some stops to unload most of the crowd and then the rest of the ride is enjoyable.

Mini gondola ride barely 20 minutes (I should point out that there was no crowd and that we arrived well in advance), not very friendly gondola rider who obviously was not very motivated to take us.
Concerning the price I paid 140 euros for 5 while on site it was 80 euros, a nice scam.
In addition with all the gogolier present the reservation is I think not necessary

This was the only activity out of so many thet I would not recommend. First of all we paid too much online while both of us could have taken a gondola ride for 80 dollars. They promised us 30 minutes but it was a lot shorter and the Gondolier was not friendly. He did not sing and kept talking to other gondoliers in Italian while passing by. It was no way near a romantic experience in the beautiful city of Venice.
