Time of the tour gives nice light

On the north side it is much less touristy. The sunset starts (in June) in the late afternoon so the light is beautiful and the low sun gives a very nice image. Upstairs it is cold due to the strong wind; renting a jacket (with hood) is not unnecessary and worth it. Guide tells a lot about volcanoes. Highly recommended.

Experience to have!!!

Spectacular experience of visiting Etna accompanied by Gianluca, a highly trained guide, available and engaging even with children.
We have two children aged 9 and 6 who were fascinated by the landscape and the information given by our guide!
A memory that we will carry in our hearts!

Highly recommended excursion!

We did the circular route that leads to Bottoniera, and it was worth it. Spectacular landscapes, sometimes science fiction-like, in truly uncontaminated nature.
All accompanied by explanations from the excellent guide, Gianluca, who illustrated the history of the volcano over the years, as well as other curiosities about flora and fauna.
Route suitable for everyone, easy difficulty, however trekking shoes are recommended for some slightly more difficult points.

Spectacular

We did the excursion with the guide Gianluca, who immediately welcomed us and promptly informed us on the methods and times of the excursion. He wisely suggested we rent more suitable footwear and lighten our backpack. Together we completed a route of approximately 4km on a slope with a total duration of 3 hours. The difficulty level of the route was medium-low, suitable even for the little ones. The excursion included numerous intermediate stops to take a break from the journey and receive interesting information from the guide regarding the historical-geographical events that affected the individual places. Breathtaking views and a constant breeze crowned the already spectacular experience.

Fantastic excursion to the Bottoniere

Today my girlfriend and I took part in the "Bottoniere" excursion and it was a wonderful experience, especially thanks to the guide Gianluca, who was able to involve us, explain and tell us all the key information and curiosities about Etna and its eruptions . He transformed the route into an educational and inspiring walk. We will definitely be back to take part in new excursions, in the meantime if you pass by here stop by to visit the "Bottoniere" with Gianluca

Visit to the “Button Box”

My family - me, my wife and our 12 and 10 year old boys - chose the tour offered by Guidetna.it to the sites of the 2002 eruption.
Booking takes place conveniently online, but Guidetna.it is absolutely available by phone for any information.
Before the excursion, a confirmation message arrives from them, with the details for the appointment and the equipment.
Regarding this last point, I confirm the need to equip yourself with trekking shoes, as Etna is a "serious" mountain. We visited in August and in that period you can do without long trousers, while it is better to bring at least some windproof.
Appointment in Piana Provenzana where, punctually, we found our guide Gianluca.
Gianluca is a guide passionate about volcanology and in love with Etna. His illustrations and explanations contributed to making the walk truly special: the description of the characteristics of the eruptions, the path inside the "bed" of the flow, the indication of the "banks" of the lava river, the details on the nature of the rocks and minerals resulting from the eruption and the modification of the flora are just some of the topics addressed with effectiveness and lightness at the same time.
Not to mention the visit to the "Button Box" and the excellent ability to involve and interact with the kids.
Finally, and a fundamental detail, Gianluca always kept a walking pace that was respectful of all the members of the group.
What to say? Highly recommended!

We stayed with the guide Gianluca on August 20th for the visit to the Bottoniera and the 2002 eruption. It was a wonderful experience, Gianluca is very knowledgeable, helpful and clear in his explanations. He also knew how to involve the kids along the way. Absolutely an experience to do!

A beautiful experience! Our guide, Gianluca, was very knowledgeable from a historical-cultural and technical point of view. The “La Bottoniera 2002” route lasted about 3 hours and allowed us to see a spectacular landscape. Advised!

Surreale

Un’ sperimenta che definiremmo surreale è esilarante, in tutti i sensi. Uno spettacolo mozzafiato, un paesaggio lunare, sembra di essere catapultati improvvisamente su Marte: impressionante e da lasciare a bocca aperta la potenza della natura che si manifesta lassù, una sensazione unica, irripetibile. Un grazie veramente speciale a due guide appassionatissime, innamorate del loro lavoro e che rendono il tutto ancora più divertente e curioso.
