Mark was just fabulous, so accomodating and well priced being so generous with his time. I cannot fault anything about the experience and Mark would be my go to for anything biking near Florence

Mark is personable and knowledgeable about the area, and a very experienced cyclist. He provided great information about how and where to rent bikes and was prompt in meeting us. He led us on a challenging ride to a wonderful winery. He navigated us on bike trails and fairly remote roads on the way to the winery and was patient and encouraging with anyone who was falling behind. My only complaint is that the ride back was on some pretty major roads that were terrifying to bike on, including through a short tunnel in the city and several roundabouts where we were very uncertain how to navigate through the cars on bikes. Very experienced cyclists would probably be fine.

Mark was great guide, it was very easy to follow him on a great bike tour of scenic Tuscany! Had a nice coffee stops and pastry stop along the way

Mark is an excellent tour guide, if someone’s looking for a private cycling tour from Florence. We met at a cycle hire shop recommended by Mark, and he proceeded to take us on a 40 mile tour of the Chianti region just to the south of Florence. We rode at our pace, didn’t feel under pressure to ride at a certain speed, and we stopped at some beautiful spots for photo opportunities and some well needed drink and snack breaks. Would thoroughly recommend using Mark for anyone wanting to see a bit more of Tuscany than just Florence. He’s open to going as short or long a ride you want, knows some fantastic routes and was just a pleasure to be with.

I'm sorry to say this review is almost 2 years overdue as we had such a great time on our private guided bike tour in the hills around Florence. My fiancée and I booked a tour with Mark in July, 2019 and cannot recommend him highly enough. I'm a fairly avid cyclist and my fiancée is a casual/beginner and he designed a beautiful 39-mile route to our skill levels and provided options along the way to divert if we wanted to hit a particularly picturesque viewpoint, or take the less strenuous route, etc.
Coordination and communication were exceptional; he provided excellent advice with regard to bike rentals, met us at the shop on time, utilized the information about our riding styles and skill levels to recommend the appropriate equipment and, most importantly, guided us on a very fun and pretty ride through the Tuscan countryside, stopping for much needed espresso and snacks along the way. While my fiancée has opted to leave future vacation cycling trips to me (it's just not her thing), I wouldn't hesitate to book with Mark again. I imagine he's got some great gravel routes we could explore as well!

Both myself and my partner had such an AMAZING day riding through Chianti with Mark. Although Mark and my partner are more experienced cyclists than me, they kept a nice pace throughout the entire day. Mark had set up the route so we could have options to extend it depending on our/my energy levels on the day. We cycled 75km in total, which was a new record for me!
Not only was Mark a super guide, but he was also a very friendly and likeable guy. The weather on the day couldn't have been better too - around 26 degrees Celsius and sunny. It really was such a memorable way to see the beautiful Tuscan countryside, and it was definitely one the highlights of our trip!

Wonderful day biking through the Tuscan countryside! We biked all day (about 30km) with out 10 and 12 year old kids. Mark was great! He met us in an agreed upon location in one of the towns and arranged for the bike rentals. He customized the bike route to accommodate our kids. There were some challenging hills but Mark was very patient and encouraging to help us all get up them. The scenery was beautiful and my kids say it was the best day of our trip. Would highly recommend Mark's tour.

My husband and I were given a private guided tour through Tuscany with Mark, and it was absolutely fabulous! Not only was Mark great company but he also took us to a great place to have lunch and showed us all the best roads outside of Florence. If you want a great cycling experience outside of Florence definitely ride with Mark!!

My partner and I hadn't planned much to do while visiting Florence, and happened across Mark's tour of the Tuscany hills when we got into town. Being a regular road rider, I was really looking forward to this day trip. Needless to say, it was a day more than well spent. Mark did an awesome job guiding our group, leading us to some of the nice sites around Florence, and then off into the hills where we had a fantastic meal - honestly probably the most authentic meal we had while in Florence. Although a few of our group members had some challenges with the amount of climbing we did, Mark did a good job of keeping everyone together, and also offering a riding push up some of the hills, further showing his professionalism towards being a top-notch guide. After lunch we headed back down into Florence where we made another stop for some Gelato, which again was outstanding. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an authentic adventure around the area, and would definitely ride with Mark again.

my fiance and myself were in Chianti for a quick getaway and mark managed to change his regular route to meet us in Chianti since that is were we wanted to have the tour and we were shocked by how knowledgable he was of all the routes as he chose it to completely fit our needs as we wanted nice views with medium level of workout. also the whole itenerary and stops and recos for food was on point.

Hi - I am interested in this tour along with my wife and son. My son is 8 and is used to riding a bike (he has ridden 10-15 miles at one go). Would you be able to do a trip for 3 of us - I am expecting around 20-30 mile ride at a slow pace with stops.
