My friend and I ended up with a private tour! Our driver was Lorenzo and he was awesome! We had an amazing tour around the town of Siena, then free time in San Gimignano with breath taking views of the hillside. A lunch at a villa winery in Chianti area and stopped at Leaning tower of Pisa on way back. It was incredible and our driver was wonderful!

The first thing that we did with this company was the Pizza and Gelato making class. The chefs were informative and helpful. The gelato portion of the class was mostly a demonstration while the pizza dough was rising. It was hard to see what was going on. They had several toppings for the pizzas so they could accommodate people with different dietary needs. Our class had mostly family groups with children and this seemed to be more of an activity and less of a class.
We also took the Small Group Grand Tour. There were 7 of us in a van with Brando who did a very nice job. Our first stop was in Sienna where we stopped at a church and saw St. Catherine’s head. We then took a walk through town that ended at the square where we were given 30 more of free time to explore on our own. After meeting with our guide again, we went to the Duomo but didn’t go inside. When we left Sienna, we drove to the hilltop town of San Gimignano where we had an hour to shop on our own. We had a multi-course lunch (with each course paired with wine) at the Castello Sonnino winery where we were greeted by the Baroness herself. Our group had one vegetarian, one lactose-intolerant, and one gluten-intolerant person and they did a very nice job of accommodating our various dietary needs. After lunch, we visited Corsini pottery and ended with a short stop in Pisa to see the leaning tower. After the tour, Brando dropped us off near our hotel. A very full day that gave a sample of many things.

This was a truly enjoyable day driving the Tuscan landscape, with a lovely meal at a winery and time in Siena and San Gimignano to wander and soak up the beauty--and some sun. The last stop, Pisa, was near dusk so we didn't see as much. Our guide, Brando, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. It was like taking a tour with a friend from the area who had a clear passion for his native Florence and Tuscany. We saw and learned so much. I am not one for tours as a rule, but the small group in a minivan and the personable nature of the guide, made the day a true pleasure. I have previously visited Siena, but knew little about the city itself or its history. That is the benefit of having a guide. Plus, he knew the owners of a small salumeria where we were offered an impromptu tasting of cinghale (boar) sausage, cheeses, bread and wine. Then, it was off to Castello Sonnino for a wine tasting, appetiizers of cheese and boar sausage, bruschetta and a plat primi of short pasta with courgettes and pecorino. We ended the meal with a sweet but delicious dessert wine, followed by a tour of the wine cellar and drying rooms where the grapes for the dessert wine dry to increase their sweetness. Wine and olive oil were available for sale onsite and packaged for transport. They will also, for a little bit of a hefty fee, send home for you. There was no pressure, however. The wines and olive oil were very reasonably priced. At our request, we stopped in a local ceramics shop where we got to see artists painting the bisque-fired pottery with traditional Italian designs. As mentioned above, we arrived around 5 in Pisa and, with a primer on the leaning tower and church area, we were turned loose to explore, but dusk fell and we were tired so after a quick tour and search for a little restaurant, we opted for an aperol at the little bar by the souvenir kiosks near our drop off. Really, Pisa seemed a stretch for this tour. I would have appreciated a little more time in Siena or perhaps a visit to Prato. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Loved this day tour. The guide Brando was wonderful, very informative and friendly. The places we visited were all beautiful and our lunch was delicious and plentiful. Can not fault anything.

Right from the start our guide Veronica told us this was going to be a long day!
Yup, it was a long day!
Veronica was a very knowledgeable guide able to answer just about every question we had about the various places we visited and the sights along the way. Her knowledge of the area was impeccable. A very fun and easy going individual who gave us practical tips and tricks to keep in mind while to stay safe and get the most out of stay in Florence!
On our tour we meet a family of 4 from Sydney, Australia and another couple from South Dakota, USA. Group was a lot of fun as we were able to share our experiences in Florence as well as other places we visited in Italy and around the world.
Tour is definitely worth it as you get to see and learn about many places in the shortest amount of time. After visiting each location you do get about an hour of free time to wander around and explore on your own. Veronica also give you tips on key places to check out, what each places is famous for if you’re interested in trying out local food and or looking for trickets to take home.

My wife and I booked the Small group
Tuscany Grand Tour and we are so happy we did! Our vehicle transport for the day was a Mercedes mini van with plenty of room and comfortable seats. The staff of Florencetown checking us in were so nice and soon we were introduced to our guide Veronica who turned out to be a treasure. First stop on this long day is Siena where Veronica guides us through the old Town and then gives us about 30 minutes free time and then meets us for pick up at a designated point. Next stop is the village of San Gemignano where Veronica provides detailed info how to navigate the small village giving us an hour to explore . Next up is a drive to where we have lunch at Castello Sonnino Winery. We get a tour of parts of the winery followed by a typical Tuscan lunch accompanied by various wines to taste! Next up is travel to Pisa where Veronica dropped us off right at the entrance to the Leaning Tower and it's other sites where we had an hour to explore. Finally back to Florence. It's about a 12 hour day. Veronica was INCREDIBLE!! She is so friendly and nice. She provided information and history all during the drives from point to point and any questions we had She was able to answer. It also happened to be raining really hard on our way to Pisa and Veronica safely got us there, this was after a lot of driving already. THANK YOU VERONICA AND FLORENCETOWN! You made a wonderful trip to Florence even better

Rubina was a wonderful tour guide!! She brought great positive energy, spoke excellent English, and enabled us to experience and learn a lot about the deep and rich cultural history of old Tuscany. The winery we went to (Sonnino) was excellent too. As a solo traveler on a work trip I needed something to fill my Sunday and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to check off San Gimignano and Pisa as well! I feel I got good value for my money and enjoyed some great wine and a delicious meal with lunch too. I can’t wait to go back to Siena and Castle Sonnino winery again! With the big group tours you don’t learn or experience nearly as much, with this small group tour I felt like I was able to learn a ton, meet some people, and take it all in!

Our guides and driver were amazing (Serena, Felipa and Boris). They gave to us very nice suggestions.
Busy day and a lot of time on the road:

I booked this tour so that our family (husband, and young adult daughters) could see a lot in a single day--and it was well worth it! Paola was knowledgeable and fun to talk with as we drove from site to site. We had a local guide in Siena who knew all about the culture, and made our tour fun and informative. We had time in San Gimignano to taste the local wine and eat the best gelato we had in Italy--all thanks to Paola's advice :) We had a lovely lunch and tour of a private wine cellar too. The day ended in Pisa, and while we didn't book tickets to climb the tower, we had plenty of time to tour the cathedral and baptistry as well as wander the grounds. We never felt rushed, and enjoyed seeing many sites in a single day which would not have been possible if we'd tried to arrange transportation on our own. If you don't have a lot of time, but want a sample of what this beautiful region has to offer, I highly recommend this tour.

My spouse and I signed up for this tour and it was a
great experience! It was for a small group but no one else showed up so it was just us! Our guide was Veronica and she was amazing! She shared so much great information on the sites and stories about the towns we saw, and answered any questions we had. She was super nice and friendly and we really enjoyed the time we spent together. All the spots we stopped in were so unique and we did have some free time to explore in each town on our own for shopping etc. We also stopped at a winery for a tour and lunch. Food was delicious and we also got to taste some wines. Would highly recommend this tour with Veronica as a guide. It was a great way to see the Tuscany area for a day.

My 2 friends and I will be staying in Siena for 3 days in Later April. We would like to arrange a tour to include possibly Lucca, San Gimignano, Chianti and other wine e areas, scenic, etc. to include good lunch spot.
