Concert très bien avec de magnifiques voix, un seul bémol : le fond sonore des ventilateurs installés un peu partout pour pallier à la chaleur ambiante, qui atténue largement l’acoustique.

Enjoyable evening

We had a lovely evening at this concert, in a lovely little church in Florence. We don't know very much about classical music so can't comment on the quality, however we both thoroughly enjoyed it, and thought the singers were very good. A perfect introduction to classical music and where better to do it than Florence. One note though, it was unbearably hot in the church.

Lovely evening

Fantastic evening with fantastically talented tenors and musicians.. it’s such a pity some people wear shorts and flip flops to such a lovely evening, bringing down the calibre of the occasion, surely a dress code should be imposed.. the venue was quite hot and could have done with some air conditioning or simply to open some windows

Ein schöner Abend mit drei Tenören und einer Balletteinlage

Das war ein schöner Operabend. Mehr oder weniger bekannte Stücke aufgeführt von drei Tenören, mal im Chor und mal Solo. Begleitet durch eine Pianistin mit ihrem Flügel und einem Ukulelespieler. Eine kleine Überraschung, und ein kleiner Mehrwert, war das junge Ballettpaar, das einige Stücke begleitete. Insgesamt ein lohnender Abend mit klassischem Opernklängen.

A Nice Night Out for an Intro to Italian Opera

An enjoyable, entertaining night out. I figured since we were in Italy, I might as well hear a sampling of the "world famous Italian masterpieces." I'll admit I'm not a big opera fan and that I've never actually been to an opera, but this seemed like the perfect place and time for an introduction. I recognized a couple of the songs/arias performed and of course the 3 tenors had incredible voices that filled the old church. They sang in Italian so I had no idea what the story lines were about but they sang with great expression and emotions I could kind of follow along. During several songs they had a couple dancers perform ballet and to be honest I found it more of a distraction. The show lasted less than the the stated 90 minutes which I think was just the right length for me. To cap off the night, they performed a rousing encore of the audience favorite "Funiculi Funicula."

The musicians were excellent and the 12th century Roman Catholic church had great sound and ambiance. We went for the VIP seats which put us in the front row but I'm not sure you really need to be that close. Also, I'm not sure how well the ballet dancers could be seen from the back since they danced at floor level.

Overall - I'd recommend it for a nice night out. The description was very accurate and the location wasn't too hard to find. The church is tucked into a small alley/drive way but follow your GPS and look for the signs.

Incredible experience!

Other than them not actually singing Nessun Dorma it was amazing. Gorgeous venue. Very whimsical. Singers were incredible. Highly recommend.

Not as expected

The tenors sing very good but the songs are not known except two of them.. They are very talented but the selection of songs did not provide the experience that we expected.
The title of the concert is Nessum Dorma but this song was not presented, so it was very misleading.

Where is the missing Nessun Dorma?

I will start by saying that this my first opera and I was so excited that it was in Italy. The venue was beautiful and the Tenors sounded great. I must say the biggest disappointment is that they didn’t sing O sole mio which was in the event description or even Nessun Dorma – which is in the title. This should be removed if they have no intention of singing it. It set my expectations high then dropped them from a great height. I also found the performance rather vain; they treated each performance as though it was their last of the evening; bowing, thanking each other and leaving the stage. Because of this, I actually didn’t realise it was finished until the lights came on and everyone got up to leave.

Then there were the dancers. Cute idea and they looked lovely and clearly doing what they loved. But they mostly performed off stage at ground level so most people, including me, couldn’t see them.

I’m glad I went but not sure I would recommend it.
