If you are wondering whether or not you already read a similar review on a different tour, the answer is yes. This is my second review for Tours of Switzerland and Jonas (our guide). We travel quite a bit. We’ve used many tour companies and even travel agents along the way. But I must say that Tours of Switzerland, Jonas our guide - for a second time by request and Lina, the one we coordinated and corresponded with during our travels in Switzerland, were simply flawless. To give you an example of the level of professionalism and care, I received an email from Lina and a call from Jonas with concerns about the weather for Mt. Titlis and Mt. Pilatus. On the fly, they restructured our tour and switched the order to accommodate the weather concerns and as a result, we missed NOTHING! It was all handled perfectly. Like my other review, Jonas was amazing. Knowledgeable, accommodating and patient. We never waited for anything and we felt as though he was a part of our family! So much so that we cancelled a previously booked tour through Viator, and booked the same tour (but so much better and catered to our desires) with Lina and Tours of Switzerland on the contingency that Jonas be our guide! And he was! I can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience with Tours of Switzerland, Lina, this tour to Mt. Pilatus and of course, Jonas! When we return, and we will return, we will only be using Tour’s of Switzerland and Jonas!

Ray was a great guide. He was Knowledgeable and friendly and really seems to enjoy giving the tour. We were a little nervous about the meeting spot but everything worked out perfectly. Only down side was the fog, but the tour was fantastic.

We booked last minute and were grateful for the spot. If booking through the TripAdvisor app, be sure to go to the tour company’s website to confirm the exact meeting spot (in front of terminal 7 at the Luzern Banhof at the time of our tour) as it wasn’t immediately clear from the booking alone. Apparently this wasn’t an issue for folks who booked with Viator as it’s a little clearer there. I mention this because seventeen (17!!) people who were meant to be on the tour didn’t show.
Best part of the experience was having everything taken care of in terms of times and tickets—coordinating the ferry, the cogwheel train, and the cable car would have taken extra effort that we couldn’t afford with our last minute planning. The view at the top was foggy but, alas, that’s the nature of the beast. Still beautiful.
Ray (sp?) was our guide and he was a nice fella, but maybe could use more instruction on being a tour guide. His narrative along the way was choppy and disjointed. I don’t feel like he added much to the trip other than being our shepherd. In fact, sometimes it was a little awkward. He was trying his best.
Overall not blown away but happy with the details being taken care of for us, so if that’s what you care about most, this would be worth it.

Day before we were advised of pending poor weather and asked if we could defer until following day which we couldn't due to travel commitments. Assured we would receive refund of Mt Pilates component. Long story short we received 60% refund. Advised this was because we booked through 3rd party who just packaged up tours. If we had purchased direct from provider we would have paid 30% less. Avoid this supplier. Book directly with ACTUAL service provider rather than 3rd party.

Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry you couldn't explore Mt. Pilatus due to the weather. We do recommend always checking the operator's website as it is typically cheaper.

We had an OUTSTANDING tour. This tour will not disappoint ! Began with a boat tour of the Lake heading to Mr Pilatus. Our guide, Ray, was so informative and fun.

Well the tour had a hiccup to start - we booked it for the previous day and due to weather (heavy snow), the tour was cancelled at the last minute. Mother Nature!
Our plans were flexible enough that we were able to re book for the next day - and we were so glad we did
We met our guide Ray at the main train station in front of platform 7 at 10:15 for our tour. We had 14 people in the total group including my wife and I so it was very personal in terms of interaction.
Ray’s amazing personality showed up immediately as he gathered us, gave us an overview of the day and walked us to the boat docks, pointing out a very interesting fact about the clock at the train station.
We boarded the boat for our Lake Lucerne cruise and the experience was great. Ray kept us engaged with some background about the lake and the town which was great.
After a few stops we ended up at the base of Mt Pilatus and Ray gave us the history and background of the site. We took the tram up to the top and the sights were beyond amazing.
At the top, Ray walked us through various awesome facts about the summit and things to do while we were there. We were blessed that Ray joined us for lunch and we got to know his background. Have done a lot of tours and he was one of our all time favorites.
After the summit we took the two stage cable cars down the other side of Mt Pilatus which was a completely different experience. The second stage was a smaller car (4 people) but peaceful and beautiful views
We then took at bus back to the train station, completing the tour.
Overall, Ray and the sights made this tour amazing - highly recommended!

From the onset, Jonas’s enthusiasm and knowledge about the mountain set the tone for an exciting day. What made the tour truly remarkable was his ability to transform unexpected events into memorable parts of our journey. When a sudden change in crowds and weather hindered our groove, Jonas’s quick thinking and resourcefulness that truly impressed us. His positive attitude and keen ability to navigate the unexpected not only kept everyone in high spirits but also fostered a sense of camaraderie among the group. Thanks to Jonas, our tour of Mt. Pilatus was not just a scenic excursion but a wonderful adventure filled with learning, laughter, and awe-inspiring moments. I can't recommend this tour enough—ask for Jonas, and you're in for an unforgettable experience!
