What a great tour! Aarre was a fantastic guide - Very knowledgeable about the city in the history of Amsterdam. We enjoyed walking through the old part of Amsterdam, trying some delicious food, and learning about the history and the current status of the red light District. There may be some changes to the district coming, so highly recommend this tour to those interested in the past and current status of this important part of Amsterdam history.

This was absolutely fascinating! But, I believe it was completely due to our guide, Caroline. As we walked throughout Amsterdam, she relayed a history & understanding of the Netherlands & the Dutch. Caroline showed us historical landmarks & occurrences that lead up to present day Amsterdam, with its cannabis shops, culture of tolerance & how the Red Light District came to be. Yes, we toured the Red Light District, thoroughly, & it was fascinating! Caroline explained the laws, how exchanges take place, which we witnessed, & the protections in place for all involved. We walked away with a tremendous respect for the Dutch people & their bravery & respect for all human beings.
Taking this tour with Caroline at the beginning of our trip saved us from a lot of missteps & misunderstandings. Something as simple as where to get a coffee (it’s not a coffee shop) or more importantly, if you find yourself in the Red Light District & need help.
For clarification, this is not exactly a food tour. You’ll get a sampling of some Dutch favorites, but it’s the nonstop, eyewitness experience of the Red Light District that is so incredible!
Taking this tour with Caroline at the beginning of our trip saved us from a lot of missteps & misunderstandings. Something as simple as where to get a coffee (it’s not a coffee shop) or more importantly, if you find yourself in the Red Light District & need help.

We toured with Arree. He was knowledgeable and fun! He went over the background of The Red Light District, as well as the area as we see it today. He answered all of our questions and shared some fun facts. We would recommend Arree and his tour.

Wonderful start to our trip! Gavin was our tour guide and catered our trip to our interests! Lots of interesting history notes related to Amsterdam red light district and popular food choices.

Such an informative tour and Catherine, our guide for the 2 hours, was brilliant. Definitely worth doing at the start of your break so the city makes more sense. The food stops were a great insight and we wouldn’t normally have known or had them.

Craig provided us a terrific tour of the historic red light district. This was our fourth variation of a tour in Amsterdam, but probably our most informational, in terms of the history and culture of the country, city and neighborhood. We got to try some Dutch “delicacies” and went up and down streets and alleys we would not have ventured down alone. Craig was very knowledgeable regarding all our questions, and we now have a strong sense of the city. Highly recommend!
