Great city bike tour and lovely guide Thomas. Such a useful way of learning how to navigate the city rather than attempting to do it on a self bike hire. Very much more relaxing. I don’t think I can agree with the company’s claim to being the “World’s best bike tour company!”. Guides possibly need more training in the art of storytelling and perhaps a few more years’ experience under their belt to match that claim!

We are glad to read that you have enjoyed the tour!
As far as we know, we never claimed to be the best, as this is not something to claim lightly. If you see this claimed somewhere, please let us know. I was very suprised to read this!
We do claim to be the worlds first city bike tour company (as in, the oldest), and in the past of our company that has been described as 'worlds leading bike tour company' for this reason, as the business model had been copied in many places since Yellow Bike was founded. I think it might be that there is some nuance lost in translation between Dutch and English as well. We will check on that.
However, it's 2023 now and bike tour companies exist in many cities around the world so we have changed the phrasing of 'leading'.
So, in the end, Yellow Bike itself has many years of experience 'under the belt' (or rather in the Canal Belt) but we recruit new guides every year. We train them regularly and will take your feedback into consideration when doing so.

The route and information stops were excellent. A wonderful way to get an overview of the town. The bikes are old. Having the main braking from a rear wheel pedal brake is unsatisfactory.
Perhaps our (Swiss/American) guide had an off day but the group (a bit too large, with no tail end guide) struggled, and split often at road junctions and lost two at one stage. One of the main road crossings was quite hazardous, with urgency piled on as the remaining group cycled off. Having bright yellow was useful in keeping in contact.

Tak til Aranka for en herlig cykeltur rundt i byen. Det var en meget fin måde at lære byen at kende, og Aranka gjorde det på en virkelig god måde og talte så godt og langsomt at vores teenagere forstod stort set alt. Grunden til det ikke bliver fem stjerner er at der ikke var gear på cyklerne. Det kunne vi godt have brugt ved de små bakketoppe over kanalerne.
Efterfølgende fik vi i øvrigt fremragende service af Yellow biketeamet i en anden sammenhæng. Vi kommer igen til en af de andre ture.

I really enjoyed my 2 hour bike tour of Amsterdam with William as our guide.
We learn lots of facts about the city, and saw places we probably wouldn’t have managed to see in our short visit on foot.
You need to be confident on a bike and have your wits about you as there are lots of pedestrians and other cyclists to try and dodge! The bikes are very basic and only have a front break so you have to backpedal to slow down, which can take a bit of getting used to.
I thoroughly recommend this tour, it was great fun.
