Bike was solid and very happy using it. Staff member was very helpful with clear instructions and gave me time to get acquainted. Also gave advice on places to go (or not to!) tailored to my interests. Very pleased.

Empresa poco seria. Se aprovechan de que son conocidos. No nos dejaron alquilar las bicis basicas(más baratas) diciendo que no tenían cuando había varias a la vista en la tienda. Las contratamos expresamente diciendo SIN SEGURO dado que tenemos seguro privado, el empleado va grabando los datos que te pregunta en una tablet y luego firmas un recibo. Cuando devolvimos las bicis 3 días más tarde, nos cobraron el seguro (42€) diciendo que habíamos dicho que si. Imposible de probar, nuestra palabra contra la suya, eres turista se aprovechan. Hay muchas más tiendas de alquiler, 2 en la misma calle a media altura. No volvería a alquilar aquí.

Thank you very much for your review. We are sorry to hear that you had such a frustrating experience, but we really appreciate you bringing this problem to our attention. We understand that it might be a bit confusing when you see the bikes you want to rent in the shop but unfortunately, you don't get them. The issue is that we also offer the option of booking bikes online. As soon as we receive a booking, we set aside the bikes in question in the shop and it is unfortunately not possible for other customers to rent them. As for the insurance - we're sorry that there has been a miscommunication about this. Could you please contact our customer service about this at sales@macbike.nl. We would like to find out what happened here. We look forward to your response!

We rented two e-bikes from MacBike for two days. This made our experience in Amsterdam AMAZING. We were able to get around the city very easily and got to see so much more than we would have if we chose to just walk or even use transit. Would highly recommend e-bikes from MacBike. They come with two types of locks, one to lock the wheel, and a chain lock. They also provided us with battery chargers since we had the bikes for more than one day. Great service, would rent from MacBike again on future trips to Amsterdam.

Rented the electric bikes from MacBike for 4 days. The bikes are great and allow you to cover a lot of ground if you want to take a long trip to go see some sights. We took them out to Muiderslot and only used 1 of the 4 bars of electricity. I highly recommend getting the saddle bags as they can carry a ton of groceries or even your battery chargers. We took the chargers with us and plugged them in at Muiderslot just to be sure we had the power. It was not needed but glad to have tested it out. Super friendly people at MacBike. Only 2 of their places rent the electric bikes. We rented from the one by Central Station. Easy 3 minute walk from the station.

Excellent choice and option, and especially while traveling to Amsterdam for 3 days straight. The city is very bike-friendly even if riding a bicycle there requires a little bit of know-how however once you get a good hand of your bicycle such a traveling companion proves very useful to rally several destinations in a relatively short time. A time-saver that certainly is an asset to better appreciate the city.
The tenants of Macbike Oosterdok were very kind and made my life so much easier. The rental was easy to get to, the bikes sturdy and equipped with 2 locks and prices were very cheap and hyper competitive.
Would certainly do it again next time I am there,

The bikes are sturdy and reliable, a bit on the heavy side, but overall fine. The bike rental was rather expensive, compared to other bike rental agencies.The staff (Oosterdok location) was extremely unhelpful, condescending and patronising. They provided the wrong information which lead us into renting the bikes for one extra day. When they admitted their mistake, they even became more hostile and rude. Never again.

Renting without any issue. I find it only strange that you don't get any proof when you give back the bikes at the end of the rental.
The bikes were fine. They are not new, for sure, but they are in perfect working condition.

And regarding your point about the proof of return - it is indeed true that you do not receive a receipt for returning the bike. When the rental period has been paid for and the bike has been returned without damage, the contract is automatically ended. This can be seen as proof of return. Very pleasant reception, and very good bikes ! It was a real pleasure !
The explanations was clear with a touch of humour too. And of top of that, they reimboursed us for a broken chain, and gave us a good price !
