It is a little Zoo but there are animals to see that I haven’t seen at our local “Paignton” Zoo, in Devon UK. If you don’t love strolling, taking pictures and actually watching the animals then you will whip around in about 30 mins to 1 hour but I LOVE the animals and spent 4 hours here but could have spent another hour or so if I hadn’t pre booked a taxi. 18 euros is an ok amount to pay.

Worst zoo I've ever visited. I knew from 5mins there that it wasn't worth admission of 18 euro. I asked for the manager as I knew it was not somewhere me and my daughter would like to spend, refund was denied they didn't seem to care I had spent money for a service I was unhappy with. Too many birds and farm animals. I saw injured birds. Zoo was run down. Completed the zoo in 40mins!!! No penguins, no food court open. Can't stress how much of a disappointment this zoo was. Please save your money. Avoid at all costs!

What an amazing zoo, and i do not like zoo's But Lagos Zoo has been built with care and love, full of tropical trees and flowers, lakes, palm trees all dotted with the most incredible display of birds, monkey's , mini hippo's, crocs..... every corner is a delight.
Pink and coral flamingo's....little places to sit in the shade and observe. It really is quite magical Lagos Zoo, a little paradise hidden in the hills of the Algarve.

Nunca vi em minha vida, um zoológico que não aceita pagamento a não ser em dinheiro, crianças de 8 anos de idade pagando ingresso inteiro, pois é exigida carteirinha de estudante(aluno se férias), na na atualidade isso acontecer e quem está nos caixas não quer saber nem de explicar e muito menos emitem cupom fiscal, é só o ingresso ser pago e deixado na recepção. Impressão ruim para quem vem de outros lugares, visitar um local tão bonito e de entrada se separar com essa situação.

Let me start with what Lagos Zoo 'is not' before preceeding. It is not a zoo on a grand scale. It doesn't have Lions, Tigers of any of that kind of large animal. It is not 'pristine' or manicured to look at. You will be walking on gravel and sand and the abundant plant life sometimes encroaches on the walkways. You won't find any great catering options either and the cafe was perhpas the only disappointing aspect of the visit.
So, what is so good about this zoo? Well, it's manageable in scale. A 2-3 hour visit should be ideal for most. The keepers were friendly and eager to explain anything you needed to know. The animals were very relaxed and at ease in their environments, many of which are viewed without having to peer through glass or fences and they're not hundreds of feet away from you either. It's all quite up-close which makes for a more-interesting day. Much of the bird life and water fowl are free to roam the zoo and you'll often find yourself following, or being followed by, flocks of ducks or groups of pelicans as they amble around.
All the animals were very active and many had young in tow at the time of our visit (November).
Overall, if, like me, you enjoy a 'low key' and more-informal type of attraction, you'll have a great day here. Time your visit to be there an hour or two before the afternoon feeding times and then stay on afterwards to visit or revisit your favourite animals.

Animaux avec très peu de place, oiseaux, singes etc etc, 8 moutons dans 20 mètres carrés, seules les grandes volières étaient bien.
Eau d'abreuvement DEGEULASSE, certains animaux étaient dans une mer*****totale.

The zoo is quite small and basic when compared to zoos in the uk. The animals looked happy enough. Did not see many staff around. The food court was terrible. Lack of staff for the amount of people who visit

Dos animais que vi, do que mais gostei foi dos cangurus soltos, gostei basyenaye também de em parte dos outros tipos de animais, acho que deveria haver mais investimento neste zoo

Não gostei porque os animais pareciam que estavam drogados e nem se mexiam, as águas estavam super sujas estavam verdes mal se via o fundo, as plantas estavam muito velhas e mal tratadas, as mesas onde se podia comer estavam a desfazer se, de vez em quando cheirava muito mal e na piscina é proibido comer comida que se trás de fora, os funcionários são muitíssimo antipáticos principalmente as das fotos.
