We had a great time on the hot springs + dinner option. Even though it rained a lot, the hot springs was still enjoyable, and made it less crowded. Paulo was an amazing host and provided a lot of interesting info about the island. He aslo kindly asked our hotel to provide us towels. Would definitely recommend!

Awful inedible food and separate seats in different rows on the mini bus - despite being the first to book. Kept waiting for another passenger after the meal so late at the spa and again waiting for people at the end of the evening.
Our only shared tour and an expensive mistake, poor customer service and we did not enjoy either the meal or the selfishness of the others on the trip/ ineffective guide who allowed the only single traveller to take the two adjacent seats available by the time they picked us up (late) despite them only having booked that day.
Great - If you have had a row and are not looking for a shared experience with you spouse and want to sit next to a stranger for three hours.

This was our favourite tour while on São Miguel. Paulo, our awesome guide, is so knowledgeable, friendly & funny. We loved visiting Furnas and thoroughly enjoyed the thermal baths at night. The cozido das Furnas was delicious for dinner! Would highly recommend this tour to be able to sit in thermal baths and enjoy the beautiful night sky ❤️🥂

Kurz zusammengefasst: Tolles Erlebnis, angenehme Gruppe, super Tour-Guide!
Wir werden von unserem Reisebegleiter Paulo, der sich vom Anfang bis zum Ende der Tour als herausragender Guide mit sehr gutem Lokalwissen präsentiert, als zweite von drei Kleingruppen pünktlich, am frühen Abend in der Nähe unseres Hotels abgeholt.
Unsere Tour führt und aus der Stadt über die Autobahn als erstes zu den vulkanisch dampfenden und stinkenden Quellen der Insel. Entgegen vielen Besuchern bestaunen wir das Schauspiel aus dem Fahrzeug, was sich nach einigen Minuten dem Schwefeldampf ausgesetzt, als Vorteil erweist, da wir zügig weiter kommen.
Als zweite Anlaufstelle der Tour besuchen wir ein Restaurant, das für den hauseigenen, im Lavadampf totgekochten, aber traditionellen Inseleintopf aus reichlich Fleisch und Gemüse bekannt ist. Das kulinarische Erlebnis hält sich in Grenzen, aber mit den angenehmen Tourteilnehmern aus England, Kanada und Deutschland und dem moderierenden Guide Paulo ist das eine kurzweilige Veranstaltung.
Als drittes und letztes Ausflugsziel besuchen wir die fünf heißen Quellen bzw. Pools, die zum gemütlichen Bad einladen. Absichtlich wird dieses Ziel erst zu späterer Stunde angefahren, da die ca. 40°C warmen Becken untertags weniger angenehm wären. Bei Dunkelheit und mit mäßiger Beleuchtung ist der Aufenthalt ein positiv ermüdendes Erlebnis.
Die Rückfahrt geht zügig und wir werden in umgekehrter Reihenfolge wie bei Abholung abgesetzt.

Our host gave us the best tour, sympathy professional and very knowledgable. the dinner was delicious and the follow up with the termal water hot springs a great idea, very relaxing !! in the end our host noticed a rare event a clear night sky with no moon and had no problem of taking his free time and extending our tour at no extra cost just so we could go to a high spot and see the milky way and the star night and it was a unique experience. Congratulations absolutely one of the best experiences of my life 👏👏

Great outing regardless of weather! Paulo is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. It was so interesting to learn about the caldeiras and fumaroles. The restaurant we went to is a converted bath house, which was very cool, and the group enjoyed a nice meal, including the traditional cozido. And of course, the highlight was a dip in the hot springs. Wear an old suit, or at least rinse it out as quickly as possible after going in the hot springs as the iron can stain. But such a cool experience in a beautiful setting!

We had an amazing time with Paulo. He was extremely knowledgeable but even better he was FUN! The dinner at a local restaurant was delicious and the visit to the thermal baths was divine and much needed after a crazy and bumpy and wet (but fun) Whale and Dolphin trip in the morning. I would highly recommend taking this tour with Paulo. You will truly enjoy yourself.

Our guide Paulo was absolutely amazing! He is so friendly, his knowledge of the island's history, present, culture, nature, absolutely everything is incredible. We had such a brilliant trip and cannot recommend it highly enough. The food was amazing, the baths were beautiful, especially at night. And it was all made so much better for having Paulo as our guide. He also found us a place to get a Covid test after we were unable to use the main company on the island. This was completely above and beyond. We were so thankful that we had him as a guide, and very much hope to go out with him again when we visit next.

I feel so guilty for taking so long to write this review after my initial trip a few years ago, but I definitely needed to give a shout out to Paulo for making it so great! This trip was a pick me up from a bad break up. My best friend and I arranged this tour with Paulo and he exceeded our expectations! He was so knowledgeable, friendly, and super funny! He jokingly suggested that I taste the thermal bath water as they have different tastes. When I reported back on the tastes because I didn't realize it was a joke, he was very apologetic! I laughed so hard when I realized what happened. Hopefully this funny incident shows what a light and friendly atmosphere the tour was! We also learned so much about the history as well as the local culture. We were so impressed that we booked a second tour on our free day! We highly recommend FUNtastic Tours to anyone visiting here. You'll learn and laugh a lot!

6:00pm ish pickup and return 11:30pm to midnight. Probably would do a pickup if that works with your ship schedule. Good company, seemed flexible.
