Nice, easy to follow trail that's a loop and I suggest going left and getting the majority of the climbing done first and finishing through an old village that's mostly downhill on a stone pathway.

A nice excursion, with moderately challenging hiking. The waterfall was amazing and the view along the way hard to beat. Don't miss this if you visit the Azores ❤️

Although it was extremely hot and there was high humidity we were able to take a nice walk. Mario (the guide) took into account the pace of everyone in the group

Beautiful walk in the forest, up to the waterfall, with possibility of bathing. Diogo, the guide, was exceptional: competent, helpful, enthusiastic and motivated. Consigliato!

This hike was really amazing! The views were really stunning. We absolutely recommand this hike.
Clara, our guide, was really amazing. She knew a lot about nature and is so passionate about the island and the nature that it made the experience unforgettable. We were really lucky to have her as a guide.

Great moderate hike - Eduardo is a fantastic guide - fun, very experienced. Waterfall was beautiful as was the wall there and back!

Es war eine sehr schöne Wanderung. Es war mein erster Tag auf Azoren und habe die Wanderung in vollen Zügen genossen. Die Wanderung wurde von Deni begleitet und wir waren eine nette kleine Gruppe. Deni ist eine sehr fachkundige und kompetente Reiseführerin. Sie liebt was sie macht und man sieht ihr das auch an. Ich habe mich sehr gut gefühlt und habe gleich eine zweite Wanderung wieder bei Deni gebucht (am Lagoa do Fogo) Beide Wanderungen waren eine schöne Erfahrung mit wunderschöne Natur und wunderschönen Menschen. Deni's Wissen ist allumfassend und sie vermittelt es ganz leicht und natürlich. Jeder konnte die Wanderung in eigenen Rhythmus genießen. Die Wanderung an sich ist nicht sehr schwer, technisch auch nicht zu leicht, aber durchaus machbar wenn man normal fit ist. Wanderstöcke sind für den einen oder anderen zum Nutzen, sollte manchmal nass oder rutschig werden. Und natürlich Wanderschuhe:). In Allem, waren die beide Wanderungen eine sehr schöne Erfahrung die ich jederzeit wiederholen würde.

Our group loved this hike! The area is absolutely beautiful, the waterfall breathtaking and views from the abandoned city incredible. Our guide Diogo was great on this hike and all the day trips we did with him! It's obvious he loves what he does. He was not only knowledgeable about the history of the area but the local flora and funa as well. I definitely recommend this hike and Diogo as a guide!

Dani is an excellent guide. She can tell you about all the other islands and what to do on each island. They are all worth a visit. She looks after the group effortlessly. This is a challenging, technical hike. Steep slopes with wet cobble stones, you will need your poles to dig in. You don't need to be a strong hiker but you do need to be careful on the descents. You will see a pretty waterfall and an abandoned village. You will have to do the tour to find out why the village is abandoned.
