Definitely the favourite part of this tour was Samuel! He was courteous, on time in the “lobby” of the cruise terminal exit. Samuel has a degree in tourism and this showed through his knowledge about his home island and the Azores. He customized the tour to the nationalities of the passengers, US and Canadian, with anecdotes. The island is beautiful and the coastline stunning. It is a shame that the blue and green lake phenomenon is being altered by the algae bloom that is changing both the green. The cost to tourism of the major export, milk and related farming. The information about greenhouse growing of pineapples and sample of pineapple liqueur was a nice finishing touch. We were able to find cork souvenirs along the street near to the cruise

This is one of the best tours we ever did in our traveling. Sam is such a personable, caring guide who knows and is willing to share so much about Azores. 4 hours went so fast! Sam never looked at the clock, never rushed us and was very respectful. He shared a lot about his life, that made the tour even more real and enjoyable.

We absolutely love our tour with Sam! His passion and love for the Azors and Sete Cidades was contagious and helped us appreciate the beauty of the island. He knew all the best spots with the perfect views to visit. On top of everything, he is also a great photographer and helped snap pro shots of us throughout the tour. I wish we had more time to go on additional adventures with Sam!

Samuel was a great tour guide, not only taking us to beautiful lookouts, but also sharing the history of the island along the way. We were stopping over in Ponta Delgada for a long layover from Madeira and booked this tour last minute, and we’re very glad we did!

My group of 4 did not have a tour scheduled in the Azores and decided to hire a car at the port. Sam was the first person who agreed to take my group on a private (rather than a semi-private) tour to our preferred destination, the Sete Cidades. He was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide, providing information about the island and the sights. He dropped us off at key spots for pictures and was able to steer us away from the other large tour bus groups. Traveling by private car is a much better experience and you are able to determine the length of time at each stop and what sites you will stop at. My husband and I are returning next year and we will definitely prebook with Sam again.

We arrived at Ponta Delgada on Britannia cruise ship and had not pre booked a tour of the island. We were very lucky to bump into Samuel just outside the port and to get a tour organised for the two of us and another couple from the ship. We managed to fit in one car and off we went to explore this beautiful island. We were impressed with the scenery, volcanoes and lagoons and numerous view points. Samuel’s knowledge of the island is very impressive, as well as his manners and his spoken English. He took us to a two small local factories and a pineapple farm, but there was no pressure selling and we didn’t feel awkward at all. The visits were very interesting and we wanted to buy some of their products. Samuel dropped us off at the end of a tour to the local market and a cheese shop to sample and buy some cheese made from the organic milk by the free range cows, who actually live and graze outside all year round. What a tranquil place and healthy food they produce! We have decided to come back and spend more time at this amazing island. And will use Samuel’s services again for sure. We have already recommended this holiday and a guide to our friends and family. Thanks Samuel!

Olá. Eu é minha esposa estaremos em São Miguel no dia 25, em trânsito para Lisboa e gostaríamos de fazer essa excursao para as Sete Cidades nessa manhã. Mas a data não parece disponível. É possível?
