Wonderful city with many ancient structures. And Coimbra has friendly people with fine restaurants. Very nice to walk by the river and dine.

This is a great tour. It's structured very well, starting with a spring out in the countryside and ending with the Roman city where that same water was brought via aqueduct. Alfredo is friendly and very knowledgeable, and was able to answer all our deeper questions. I know a bit about Rome and have visited other Roman sites in Portugal and elsewhere. Conimbriga is very interesting and it's definitely worth it to get a guide like Alfredo to yourself.

We did this on a whim/last minute decision from Coimbra after not having tickets in time for the library. We're huge fans of history and this roman site was seriously impressive and large. Our guide was extremely knowledge and fun. would recommend!

Alfredo was a fantastic guide - he was so knowledgeable and explained everything so well. He had a great sense of humour and took time to answer all of our questions. He also took us to a museum to contextualise our experience and we also visited the source of the aquaduct. The site was one of the best I’ve seen. Highly recommended.

Visiting Conimbriga was an unforgettable experience. Our guide, Alfredo, was a very knowledgeable guide and added a lot of context and value to the ruins! I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in Roman history!

We were picked up at the hotel by Green Deer tour. Our host was fantastic. He drove us out to the Roman ruins. He brought history alive. We couldn’t believe how large the site was ( with more to be excavated. ) He was so knowledgeable and we had a very enjoyable and interesting day !

The whole set is very interesting as historical quality. The biggest complaint is about visual communication . On arrival there are two paths without anything to guide , of course I went wrong , which cost me because I was with an elderly person . We are told to enter and always go to the left . In some places , there are totens with QR code which is quite interesting , but often , following the route , the explanation is after you pass the building , it should be at the beginning . Many of the writings describe the building physically without giving the explanation of its usefulness , which for a layman would be more interesting . In the museum , the pieces have numbers , but there 's no corresponding legend that explains what it 's about . My suggestion is that you review the communication!

Obrigado pelo tempo que dedicou a escrever a sua avaliação mas, claramente não fez o passeio connosco e muito menos com um guia do Veado Verde / Green Deer pelo que a mesma está completamente fora de sítio e não avalia o nosso trabalho. No entanto partilho da sua opinião em que a comunicação de todo o site arqueológico e museu é insuficiente pelo que fazer a visita com um guia é fundamental.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the ruins, which were fascinating. My wife and I both studied Latin, and therefore Rome, but to actually see it was beyond words. The fountain was amazing. We could have done with less museum.

Mandatory stop before arriving in Coimbra, it is very well preserved, it has a restaurant, bathrooms, cafeteria and a small museum. From there there are several trekking routes to see waterfalls or reach Fátima. Free parking also has a picnic area.

Would a tour staff be able to pick us up at a train or bus station and then drive us to Lisbon after the tour? If so, what would the cost be?
