Excellent tour guided by Andre Gomez very knowledgable, entertaining and active, we traveled with teens, they loved the tour.

Tiago is amazing! We had a fun-filled day and saw everything we can see in Porto including a boat ride of Douro River and Taylor’s Port wine. We also got to do the cable car and food market. The library is interesting too!
We were comfortable in a Mercedes Benz and Tiago filed us in on information
while he was driving. Worth every penny!!

We knew it would be a long drive to see Porto but Rui filled the time with some of this knowledge and expertise. Our time in Porto included a boat ride on the Douro River and a tasting of Taylor port wines (very good). Our journey was spent in a comfortable Mercedes vehicle and the air-conditioning worked well; an absolute necessity with with this summer's heat. Rui is a good driver; Porto had always been a bucket list item for my husband and we can now say we have been. Thank you Gold Compass for getting us there.

The ability to change plans at last moment and go somewhere else. Tiago was very knowledgeable about the areas. It was very pleasant day and we enjoyed it very much. Would highly recommend.

Our driver/guide, Pedro, was excellent. We were able to fit in quite a bit in the day especially since we had a three hour drive from the Lisbon area and return to get to Porto. We were able to fit the river cruise in our tour which gave a good overview of the city and the many bridges. We even visited and bought a book at the bookstore associated with JR Rowling of Harry Potter fame. But lots more to see, so we must go back!

Tiago was an excellent guide. There were 4 of us and the cost difference from being on a bus to a private tour was negligible. He picked us up at our hotel exactly on time, he has wifi in his luxury van, stopped on the ride up and back for a break. Showed us all the sights, was very knowledgeable. joined us for lunch, and we had time to fit in a river cruise to see the 6 bridges. The views and history in Porto were amazing, can't wait to come back. It was great to have a private tour to stop and see stuff that we wanted and not be on a fixed schedule like on a bus.

Our driver-guide arrived early. Francisco was very professional in his manner and his blue suit. A pleasant surprise from other tours we had booked in the area. His knowledge was comprehensive of the area and he was a delight to chat with.
The drive to Porto is 3 hours from Lisbon. This made for a long day. The guide was accommodating and attentive to all our needs. Could not have selected a better travel professional. The standard tour is well planned and personal requests were easily accommodated.
Would highly recommend this tour guide and service.

Tiago, our wonderful guide, led us on a great day exploring Porto. We started in Lisbon. Porto is stunning. We felt like we really saw many of the highlights. Tiago arranged a really nice lunch restaurant. What can be better than eating al fresco overlooking this lovely town. Rather than doing the boat cruise, we had Tiago bring us to an extra port house. Cockburn was awesome. Manuel was an enthusiastic wine educator there.
The tour was pricey but considering the distances, elegant transportation and personalized attention we received, it was really well worth it. If we had more time, Porto would deserve a deeper look.

Would not recommend travelling on a train to Porto on a Sunday without a guide, or someone who speaks Portuguese. The train ride was pleasant and my wife and I paid a little extra for 1st class. I got a discount because I was a senior, (over 65). My fare was €44.00, and normal adult fare for my wife was €75.00.
There was nothing at the Porto train station in English, to advise you where you were in relation to the town centre, which was approx 1-2kms away. Yes, the metro station is there, but nothing in English to translate cost of metro ticket, nothing in English indicating how to purchase ticket/operate ticket machine or where to get off, etc,etc. There is no information kiosk at the train station let alone and english speaking tourist guide to give you direction. Lucky for us we managed to find a bus #40, that took us into the town centre. The highlightfor us was catching the yellow hop-on/hop-off bus.

Being on vacation in Portugal one of the places we wanted to see in the time we were there was Porto, yet due to timing and other circumstances, I found on TripAdvisor a Porto Full Day Trip - Private Tour from Lisbon. Based on the review I made arrangements for next day to visit Porto. Daniel was punctual and arrived even before agreed time. His english was excellent. We really enjoyed his company as he was professional, discreet, knowledgable and his recommendations were perfect for what we wanted to see while in Porto.
